Pokemon TCG Live is giving away free full-art cards from the game’s newest expansion, Pitch Black, though players will need to act fast to claim the cards. The giveaway in the digital trading card game marks the halfway point of the new Pokemon TCG set’s cycle.
Fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game have no shortage of options to collect cards and battle with others beyond the physical game. Pokemon TCG Pocket saw massive success after its launch in late 2024 as a simplified version of the game, featuring brand-new cards and daily free packs for fans playing the game. Pokemon TCG Live mirrors the physical TCG with its gameplay and card selection, created as an online simulator using the same cards and expansions. Now, fans on TCG Live can pick up free cards and a free pack in the game for a limited time.

Pokemon TCG Live has rolled out its official mid-expansion passcode for the Pitch Black set, giving away cards and a free pack. Players can use the code “ENDLESSNIGHT26” to redeem the Ultra Rare full-art versions of both Mega Zeraora ex and Mega Excadrill ex in the digital game. The code also comes with one free pack of Pitch Black that players can open after redeeming, potentially containing cards like the Mega Hyper Rare and Special Illustration Rare versions of Mega Darkrai ex. Fans of Pokemon TCG Live can claim their free cards by using the redemption code in the in-game shop, though the code is set to expire on September 16 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.

The newest redemption code gives players a pair of powerful cards to put in their Pokemon TCG Live decks. Mega Zeraora ex can be a devastating damage dealer when allowed to set up, with its Thunderous Fist attack doing an additional 60 damage for each Lightning Energy attached to Zeraora. Mega Excadrill can put out similarly strong damage with its Maximum Drilling attack, dealing 330 damage when two extra Energy cards are attached to the Pokemon, in addition to the three Metal Energy required. Steel-type decks also feature a variety of powerful tools for ramping Energies, including Metang and Steven’s Metagross ex pulling Energies from the deck.
The one pack of Pitch Black included with the code can also give players access to a variety of new cards. Pitch Black introduced five new Supporter cards to the Pokemon TCG, including both new characters from Pokemon Legends: Z-A, such as Gwynn and Jett, and older Trainers like Misty and Gladion. The expansion has six different Special Illustration Rare cards that players can pull, including new Mega Pokemon like Mega Chandelure and Mega Zeraora and a new card of fan-favorite Pokemon Morpeko.
Pitch Black serves as the precursor to arguably the most highly-anticipated Pokemon set of the year. The Pokemon TCG will officially debut the 30th Celebration expansion in early September, serving as the game’s tribute to the 30th anniversary of the franchise. 30th Celebration not only features reprints of some of the most iconic cards from throughout the Pokemon TCG‘s history, but also debuts a brand-new rarity with the colorful Futuristic Rare versions of Mewtwo and Mew. Pokemon TCG fans should have plenty to look forward to throughout the rest of 2026, with some big releases on the way for the game.
