Pokemon TCG Pocket Reveals Pulsing Aura Expansion and Upcoming Events

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has revealed its next expansion, Pulsing Aura, which will bring a bunch of new cards to the virtual playing table in late April. Alongside the announcement, The Pokemon Company has also included a new calendar of upcoming events in Pokemon TCG Pocket, letting players know what’s in store for the next month or so.

The last expansion to hit Pokemon TCG Pocket was Mega Shine, which arrived on March 25. The first booster set that allows players to acquire shiny Mega Evolution Pokemon cards, Mega Shine’s arrival was headlined by EX versions of Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar, but it also includes a bunch of less powerful shiny Pokemon, including Ponyta, Zorua, Pineco, and Dragonair.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Discontinuing Dex Missions and Emblem Tickets

Pokemon TCG Pocket is revamping its Emblem system, retiring Dex Missions and Emblem Tickets in favor of a simpler card-based reward method.

All Cards Revealed for Pokemon TCG Pocket Pulsing Aura Expansion So Far

  • Meca Lucario EX
  • Mega Sceptile EX
  • Vaporeon EX
  • Bewear
  • Bisharp
  • Budew
  • Croagunk
  • Emboar
  • Hattrem
  • Kubfu
  • Quagsire
  • Riolu
  • Treecko
  • Rapid Strike Urshifu
  • Single Strike Urshifu
  • Wooper
  • Arena of Antiquity (Stadium)
  • Korrina (Trainer)
  • Field Blower (Item Card)

For the next expansion, Fighting-type Pokemon will be taking center stage, led by the arrival of a new Mega Evolution card, Mega Lucario EX. Sporting an HP total of 190 and a two-energy Fighting Pulse move that deals 90 base damage, this Mega Lucario card can get even more powerful with three or more energy attached, boosting its attack by 50. Joining Mega Lucario EX is Mega Sceptile EX. With an even bulkier 210 HP, this Grass-type card’s two-energy Terminating Tail attack deals a whopping 130 damage in addition to poisoning its target, while also burning off one of its Grass-type energy counters.

Neither of the new Mega Evolution Pokemon in Pokemon TCG Pocket has an ability, but that role is handily filled by the new Vaporeon EX card. Acting like a reusable Sabrina trainer card, its Frozen Flow ability lets players switch out their opponent’s active Pokemon to the bench once per turn, on top of it sporting a respectable 160 HP and having an 80-damage Wave Splash attack that requires two Water energy. Other notable additions to the roster of new Pokemon include the Fighting-type Kubfu and its evolution, Urshifu, which comes in both a Water-type Rapid Strike form and a Darkness-type Single Strike Form. Due to their special abilities, both forms of Urshifu count as their listed type while also making them a Fighting-type Pokemon simultaneously.

In addition to these Pokemon and more, there will be a few special new trainer cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket after Pulsing Aura’s release. These include a new Supporter, Korrina, who can boost Fighting-Type Pokemon’s attacks against EX Pokemon by 30 points for a single round. There is also a new Stadium card, Arena of Antiquity, which boosts all Fighting-type Pokemon’s attacks against EX Pokemon by 20 damage, and a Field Blower Item card, which allows a player to discard a Stadium Card from the field or another Item card from any Pokemon, including their own. Additionally, players will be able to automatically receive a new gold frame for any cards of one to three-diamond rarity if they own at least 10 duplicates of that card.

There is also a new list of events in Pokemon TCG Pocket planned through late May. Elite Deck Gift Missions and Handy Card Collection Missions will be added, running from late April to early July, letting players pick up some previously released, powerful Fire-type cards in Mega Charizard Y EX and Moltres EX, along with Trainer cards that include May and Cyrus. From late April to early May, players will also be able to celebrate one and a half years of the game with the Special Event 2026, offering solo battles and missions with rewards that include Mega Zygarde EX, promo cards, accessories, and more. These special events will run alongside regularly appearing monthly events which include a Community Week in early May, a Pulsing Aura Emblem Event in early to mid-May, a Wonder Pick Event in mid to late-May, and a Mega Heracross EX Drop Event featuring B Series Volume 8 promo packs.
