Pokemon Theory Predicts New Eevee Evolution for Winds and Waves

There hasn’t been a new Eevee evolution since Pokemon X and Y released all the way back in 2013, but some fans are theorizing that a new one might finally be making its debut as part of the Generation 10 games, Pokemon Winds and Waves. Pokemon Winds and Waves were revealed at the last Pokemon Day event with an impressive trailer showing their graphical improvements over their predecessors. The trailer revealed the starter Pokemon that will be featured in Pokemon Winds and Waves, as well as the games’ 2027 release window.

No new information on Pokemon WInds and Waves has been released since Pokemon Day. And even though a Nintendo Direct is rumored to be right around the corner, reputable leakers have suggested that Pokemon Winds and Waves won’t be featured at the show. In fact, it’s been suggested that there will be no new Pokemon Winds and Waves updates for the rest of 2026.

Pokemon Camera Description Has Fans Thinking a New Eeveelution is on the Way

With no new official news to go by, Pokemon fans will no doubt be analyzing the trailer and looking for any other clues about what the games might entail. One theory making the rounds on social media is that Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature a new Eevee evolution, based on a Target description of an Instant Print Digital Camera. The camera features art of Eevee and its evolutions on its shell, and the description describes them as the “currently discovered” Eeveelutions. The wording clearly leaves the door open for more Eevee evolutions to be discovered, leaving some fans to think that it’s a deliberate clue that more are going to be introduced when Winds and Waves launch in 2027.

Before fans get too excited, this is not the first time this wording has been used when referring to Eevee and its evolutions from an official source. The description does not guarantee that there will be a new Eevee evolution in Pokemon Winds and Waves. Still, it’s always possible that a new Eevee evolution will be introduced in the new games, completely independent of the Target description.

If the claims that there will be no new Pokemon Winds and Waves news until 2027 are correct, chances are that the next big update will come on next year’s Pokemon Day, February 27, 2027. Only three new Pokemon have been revealed to date, the previously mentioned Pokemon Winds and Waves starter Pokemon, and so there’s still plenty left to show off.

In the meantime, those interested in buying the Pokemon Digital Camera from Target should note that it will be available in stores starting June 6 at store open and online the same day at 8am CST. It is part of Wave 2 of the Pokemon x Target 30th Anniversary Collection, which includes various Pokemon-themed clothes, summer accessories, and more. The first wave of Pokemon x Target items flew off store shelves, and so chances are the second wave of items will sell out quickly as well.
