Pokemon Winds and Waves Box Art Legendary Pokemon Leaked

Pokemon fans may already have a new Box Art Legendary rumor to watch as speculation surrounding Pokemon Winds and Waves continues to grow in the absence of real news. And given that no major Pokemon Winds and Waves news is expected until 2027, rumors are all fans really have. While Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have yet to reveal the games’ Legendary Pokemon, multiple rumors have suggested the pair could take inspiration from two of Southeast Asia’s most recognizable mythological figures: the Garuda and the Naga.

That rumor isn’t coming out of nowhere, with its roots firmly in information derived from the teraleak and location. Pokemon Winds and Waves are set in a Southeast Asia-inspired region, making local mythology one of the biggest areas of discussion within the community. Pokemon has frequently based its Legendary Pokemon on mythology, folklore, and cultural iconography, so many fans expect Gen 10’s mascots to follow a similar pattern (even if the exact designs remain a mystery).

Rumor: New Pokemon for Pokemon Winds and Waves Leaks Online

A semi-credible source claims to reveal the general design and typing for one critter in the upcoming release of Pokemon Winds and Waves on Switch 2.

Pokemon Winds = Garuda, Pokemon Waves = Naga

  • Pokemon Winds May Have a Garuda Mascot Legendary
  • Pokemon Waves May Have a Naga Mascot Legendary

According to multiple leaks and community reports, the rumored box Legendaries would be unsurprisingly split along the themes of wind and water. The claims suggest that Pokemon Winds would feature a Legendary inspired by Garuda, a powerful eagle-like figure associated with the sky, flight, and wind, while Pokemon Waves would feature a Legendary based on the Naga, a serpent-like guardian commonly associated with rivers, seas, and other bodies of water. Neither Legendary has been officially revealed, and Nintendo has not commented on the rumors.

Of course, Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ Southeast Asian setting has been incredibly detailed across reliable leaks, and that supports the rumors just enough for fans to latch onto them. Garuda appears throughout the folklore of countries such as Indonesia and Thailand, while Naga legends stretch across much of Southeast Asia. Both figures are deeply connected to the natural elements reflected in the games’ titles.

Of course, rumors and leaks surrounding new Pokemon games should always be treated cautiously. While some Gen 10 rumors have proven accurate over time, many others have ultimately missed the mark. Until Nintendo officially unveils the Legendary Pokemon, any discussion about Garuda and Naga inspirations remains rumor and speculation rather than confirmed information.

Even so, these rumors have become some of the more compelling surrounding Pokemon Winds and Waves. If Nintendo ultimately does draw from Southeast Asian mythology for its mascot Pokemon, as opposed to another source, Garuda and the Naga would fit naturally alongside the franchise’s long history of Legendary creatures inspired by real-world myths and legends. But for now, fans will have to wait for the official reveal—perhaps in the next Pokemon Winds and Waves trailer—for official confirmation.
