A new Pokemon Winds and Waves leak is out, and it reveals three new Pokemon that fans will be able to catch in the upcoming games. Pokemon Winds and Waves were first revealed on Pokemon Day earlier this year, with an impressive trailer revealing the games’ upgraded visuals compared to their predecessors as well as a slew of returning Pokemon. While returning Pokemon are nice to see, the real excitement comes from the brand-new creatures that will be featured in the new games.
Pokemon Winds and Waves have so far only revealed three new Pokemon in an official capacity. The Pokemon Winds and Waves starters will continue the Grass/Fire/Water typings that have been used since the original games released on the Game Boy decades ago. This time around, Pokemon fans will get to choose from Grass-type starter Browt, Fire-type starter Pombon, and Water-type starter Gecqua. The evolved forms of these Pokemon have yet to be revealed, but more information should come to light next year as we get closer to the Pokemon Winds and Waves release date.
3 New Pokemon Leaked
It’s true that the Pokemon Winds and Waves starters are the only ones we know about officially, but a new trio of Pokemon have leaked. According to leaker Kurwa on Twitter, Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature a new evolution for Charcadet, and there will also be two brand-new forms for Oricorio. Charcadet is a Fire-type Pokemon first introduced in the Generation 9 games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, while Oricorio is a Generation 7 Pokemon that can dramatically change its appearance and type when exposed to certain nectar.
While most Pokemon have a linear evolution line, Charcadet can evolve into Armarouge or Ceruledge, depending on what type of armor it is exposed to. Oricorio, meanwhile, already has Fire, Electric, Psychic, and Ghost forms, and so one has to imagine that its new forms coming in Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature different types. There are still quite a bit left for Oricorio, including Grass, Water, and Rock, just to name a few, so it will be interesting to see what new forms it brings to the table in Pokemon Winds and Waves.
Of course, fans should take these claims with a grain of salt. Neither the new evolution for Charcadet nor the two new forms for Oricorio have been officially confirmed by Nintendo or The Pokemon Company at the time of this writing, and so it’s best to keep one’s expectations in check. More clarity on the matter could potentially come on Pokemon Day 2027, scheduled for February 27 of next year. Reputable leakers have already said that’s when the next big info drop on Pokemon Winds and Waves will come, so fans should mark their calendars accordingly.
Pokemon Winds and Waves are set for a vague 2027 release. The games are expected to be the big holiday 2027 games for the Switch 2, but that has yet to be confirmed. Hopefully, more information on the Pokemon Winds and Waves release date comes alongside fresh Pokemon reveals on next year’s Pokemon Day.
