Pokemon Winds and Waves Leak Reveals Massive Number of New Pokemon

Pokemon Winds and Waves Leak Reveals Massive Number of New Pokemon

Pokemon Winds and Waves will reportedly feature the most new Pokemon ever introduced in a generation, according to a new leak. While this Gen 10 leak doesn’t go into specifics, it claims that over 300 new creatures will be added in Pokemon Winds and Waves. Fans may want to take this leak with a grain of salt for the time being, since it would be almost double the previous biggest new Pokedex size in the franchise’s history.

So far, the only new Gen 10 Pokemon confirmed for Winds and Waves are the starters: Browt, Pombon, and Geqcua. However, Pokemon Winds and Waves recently leaked its box art Legendaries as well, with claims that the Legendary for Winds will be a Garuda-like creature and the Legendary for Waves will be Naga-like mermaid creature. However, these creatures may only be a small selection of the total new Pokemon coming in Gen 10 if this rumor is true.

The Pokemon Company gives fans of the franchise a new look at the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves Water starter Gecqua.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Leak Claims Over 300 New Pokemon Are Planned for Gen 10

According to the Pokemon leak aggregator account CentroLeaks on X, Pokemon Winds and Waves will have the highest number of new creatures ever added in a Pokemon game. Currently, Pokemon has 1,025 creatures total across its nine generations, but this leak alleges that the new Gen 10 games will add 300 more. This would account for close to a fourth of the total Pokemon in existence if true, making it a hard rumor to believe without substantial proof. However, CentroLeaks claims they have verified the information independently with other sources, giving the leak more credibility than usual.

For the most part, each Pokemon generation has added between 100 and 150 new creatures to the National Pokedex. Pokemon X and Y hold the record for the fewest new Pokemon added in a generation with only 72 new additions. Gens 7 and 8 also featured less than 100 new critters in their respective games, but Gen 9’s Scarlet and Violet picked up the pace again with 120 new creatures, bringing the total up to 1,025 Pokemon.

If this new Winds and Waves leak is true, it would be a dramatic increase in new additions compared to the previous record holder for the generation with the most new Pokemon. Gen 5’s Pokemon Black and White currently hold that title with 156 new additions to the Pokedex, but Pokemon Winds and Waves would be adding nearly double that number, according to this leak.

CentroLeaks also mentions that the new Gen 10 battle mechanic will introduce special weather-related forms for many Pokemon, which corroborates another recent leak claiming that the Winds and Waves Legendaries will get new forms. This could account for a portion of the massive 300 new critters, if most of the new ones have alternate forms that are counted separately. However, until the official Pokedex size is confirmed, this is just speculation.
