A Pokemon Winds and Waves leaker claimed that the upcoming titles will still not include a feature that fans have asked about for multiple game generations. Though Pokemon Winds and Waves are scheduled to launch exclusively on Switch 2 sometime in 2027, The Pokemon Company has not revealed much information about the franchise’s next mainline generation.
Despite the developers keeping official information about Pokemon‘s tenth mainline generation under wraps, that has not stopped some leaks from making the rounds on social media. Some leaked Pokemon Winds and Waves data claimed that the island archipelago that the games will take place on may also include part of a landmass inspired by Australia. As of this writing, the name of Pokemon‘s next region remains a mystery.
Voice Acting Will Allegedly Not Be in Pokemon Winds and Waves
Though Pokemon Winds and Waves will have a mix of new and returning critters, one feature that fans have asked for is unlikely to make the cut. When asked on Twitter if Pokemon‘s Gen 10 titles will include any voice acting, an industry leaker named kurwashibamaste said, “Nope.” In a follow-up post, kurwashibamaste said that they have been debugging a leaked build of the upcoming games since November 3 and claimed that it would be too late for the development team to add any voice acting to the games.
Throughout its 30-year history, the Pokemon mainline game series has largely gone without voice acting, aside from critters such as Pikachu and Eevee receiving dedicated voice lines throughout Gen 7 and Gen 8. With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Ocarina of Time remake have made it a point to include voice-acted cutscenes for major characters despite previous games not supporting it. Though Nintendo’s current console lineup is more than capable of including voiced dialogue, games such as Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have omitted voices altogether. In response to kurwashibamaste’s post, some fans expressed disappointment that Pokemon‘s Gen 10 titles will allegedly exclude voice acting.
Along with claiming the lack of voice acting, kurwashibamaste alleged that some new Pokemon evolutions of older creatures will be featured in Pokemon Winds and Waves. The leaker claimed that Charcadet would receive a new form to go alongside Armarouge and Ceruledge, while the bird Pokemon called Oricorio would receive two new evolved forms. However, no further information about these apparent evolutions, such as names or elemental types, was offered.
When asked about a Pokemon countdown that will end on November 30, kurwashibamaste said they had “no idea” what that could entail. With Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary festivities still ongoing as of this writing, it remains to be seen if the end of November will offer fans official information about Winds and Waves.
