Highlights
- Stellar Blade’s PS5 exclusivity disappoints PC players, but history shows Sony eventually releases exclusives on PC.
- Major PlayStation titles like Horizon Forbidden West and Returnal took around 2 years to reach PC, hinting at Stellar Blade’s future release.
- Second-party title Stellar Blade may hit PC in late 2025 or early 2026, following the trend of Sony’s past PC releases.
Stellar Blade is an exciting release not only for PS5 owners but for developer Shift Up as well since the game is the developer’s first home console release. However, the PS5 console exclusivity of Stellar Blade is somewhat disappointing for PC players, especially those with machines powerful enough to push the graphical fidelity of Stellar Blade‘s beautiful world to its limits. The good news is that Sony has been very consistent with bringing their console-exclusive titles to PC over the past few years, with the catch being that they usually take a while to hit the platform.
Sony’s PC release model means that PC players get the best of both worlds with access to both PlayStation console exclusives as well as Xbox console exclusives. While most Xbox titles also release day-and-date on PC, including Game Pass, PlayStation titles usually take a few years before they’re released on the platform, with rare exceptions for multiplayer titles like Helldivers 2. Given Sony’s past track record of release dates for PlayStation exclusives on PC, narrowing down when players can expect to see Stellar Blade launch on the platform shouldn’t be too tricky.
Stellar Blade’s Post-Launch Plans Should Follow in God of War Ragnarok’s Footsteps
While Stellar Blade is confirmed to have some post-launch content in development, one mode from God of War Ragnarok would be perfect for the game.
Stellar Blade Will Likely Come to PC Eventually
Over the years, the number of PlayStation games on PC has grown to a fairly substantial size, with major titles like Horizon Forbidden West, Returnal, and Marvel’s Spider-Man available on the platform. PC players will also finally get access to 2020’s hit Ghost of Tsushima later this month when it releases on May 16, further growing the library of PlayStation-exclusive PC games. Given this release pattern, it’s pretty safe to assume that Stellar Blade will eventually come to the platform as well, but determining just when players can expect to see its release on PC requires looking back at Sony’s past PC releases.

Most PlayStation console exclusives tend to make their way to PC 2-3 years after they’re initially released. Some titles that are enhanced versions of older releases, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, The Last of Us Part 1, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade launch on PC closer to their PlayStation releases, but they are still pretty far removed from their original release date. It also seems like PlayStation exclusives that make their way to PC sooner than others tend to be second or third-party games like Predator: Hunting Grounds, Death Stranding, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.
Narrowing Down Stellar Blade’s Potential PC Release Window
Given that Stellar Blade is a second-party title developed by Shift Up and published by Sony, it seems likely that Stellar Blade will launch on PC sooner than some might expect. The most likely window for a PC release of Stellar Blade is either late 2025 or early 2026, given the pattern established by past titles. Sony still has some major first-party games like God of War Ragnarok and The Last of Us Part 2 still missing from PC that will likely need to be released before Stellar Blade hits the platform.
