PS Plus Extra and Premium Officially Adding 8 New Games on March 17

Sony has pulled back the curtain on the set of PS Plus games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers on March 17, with the headlining game being Persona 5 Royal, alongside an additional 7 games. Not only is Persona 5 Royal a highly reviewed game, but it can also take 100+ hours to complete, meaning PS Plus subscribers who play it are certainly getting the price of their subscription out of it.

It’s worth noting that there’s already been some drama around the PS Plus games this month. Sony revealed that Tekken: Dark Resurrection would be the PS Plus Premium for this month at the recent State of Play, but many fans are unhappy because it is the PSP version. Which version is ultimately better is a point of preference, but overall, many fans were not happy about it. At the same time, an online source claimed Final Fantasy 16 and Dragon’s Dogma 2 were coming to PS Plus, and that has been confirmed as fake.

Instead, the new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium are Astroneer, Madden NFL 26, Metal Eden, Blasphemous 2, Persona 5 Royal, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and Tekken: Dark Resurrection (the latter being the only one requiring a PS Plus Premium subscription). Subscribers will be able to download or stream these titles through the catalog beginning on March 17.

PS Plus Extra and Premium List for March 2026

  • Astroneer | PS5, PS4
  • Madden NFL 26 | PS5
  • Metal Eden | PS5
  • Persona 5 Royal | PS5, PS4 (and PR5 Ultimate Edition for PS4 subscibers)
  • Blasphemous 2 | PS5, PS4
  • The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria | PS5
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 | PS5
  • Tekken: Dark Resurrection (Premium) | PS5, PS4

For those curious, it’s worth noting that Persona 5 Royal‘s new content adds 20-30 hours to the game, alongside a plethora of quality-of-life improvements. These include, but are not limited to, a new playable character, two new Confidants, a slight rework of Goro Akechi’s confidant route, a new “third semester” arc with a new Palace, new shops and activities, various combat and gameplay elements, dungeon and exploration changes, social and daily life adjustments, balance adjustments to various bosses, and more. When folks say it’s the best way to play Persona 5, they are not joking.

Meanwhile, Space Marine 2 was a big hit on release, features a solid campaign, and has fun co-op elements. It’s a big win for shooter games on PS Plus. Metal Eden is also a solid, if somewhat niche, pick-up for FPS fans, as it features a frantic, high-speed, sci-fi experience on the opposite end of the shooter spectrum compared to Space Marine 2.

Interestingly, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria might be the dark horse in this selection. It launched to mixed-to-negative reviews due to numerous bugs, uneven difficulty, and limited features, but several major updates have improved the quality of its content and systems. Since co-op games are usually a good addition to PS Plus, fans looking for something new to play with friends might want to check it out—even if they’re not Lord of the Rings fans.

Overall, it’s a broad selection with a solid variety of experiences to explore. Fans should also be aware that Big Walk will come to PS Plus as a day-one game at some point in the future, and the next PS Plus Premium game will be Time Crisis in May (nothing is confirmed for April). In other words, if none of the current offerings scratch a specific itch, there are more opportunities on the horizon.

Sony is expected to reveal the PS Plus free games for April a little over a week after these PS Plus Extra games are added on March 17, and fans can still claim the PS Plus free games for March until the new, unrevealed games are added in April. They include Monster Hunter Rise, PGA Tour 2K25, Slime Rancher 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road.
