PS Plus Reveals First Monthly Games for June 2026 Early, Includes Open-World Survival Game

PlayStation has revealed the first three Monthly PS Plus games for June 2026 early, and now fans know what to expect from the service on June 2. It’s unclear why PlayStation broke from this pattern; the most logical explanation is the upcoming State of Play event, but that’ll happen the day the PS Plus games are added to the service anyway.

For those unfamiliar, PlayStation typically reveals the PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of one month before the first Tuesday of the next month. With June 2 being the day these new PS Plus games will be added, the announcement should have taken place on Wednesday, May 27. Either way, fans now know what three games will grace the PS Plus Essential Tier.

New PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for May 2026 Are Available Now

PlayStation Plus subscribers signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers of the service have a fresh batch of games to check out.

PS Plus Free Games for June 2026

PS Plus Essential June

  • Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition (PS5/PS4)
  • Nickelodeon: All-Star Brawl 2 (PS5/PS4)
  • Warhammer 40K: Darktide (PS5)

Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon: All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40K: Darktide are the PS Plus free games for June 2026, which means subscribers are being treated to a popular open-world survival game, Super Smash Bros-esque fighting game, and a co-op shooter for the month. Overall, it’s a solid list of games. Grounded is an open-world survival game where players step into the role of kid shrunk to the size of an ant, as they explore a dangerous backyard. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a platform fighter, featuring several iconic kids’ show characters, and expanded combat mechanics over the original. Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a brutal co-op shooter where players battle hordes of enemies to reclaim the city of Tertium.

Of course, these PS Plus games won’t be added until June 2. In the meantime, subscribers can still claim the PS Plus free games for May 2026. Players can claim the Soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and the Soulsvania game Nine Sols until the switcheroo, but it’s worth noting that the third game, EA Sports FC 26, is getting an extended period. It will remain available to PS Plus Essential subscribers through June 16, letting players enjoy the new World’s Game update coming on June 4. PS Plus subscribers should also consider the special EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack for the sports game.

Overall, it’s an incredible month for PS Plus Essential. Typically, Sony’s PS Plus Essential games are just okay within their niches, while PS Plus Extra packs the punch, and PS Plus Premium is largely there for subscribers who want a few extra bonuses. However, Grounded is an all-timer in the open-world survival game genre, All-Star Brawl 2 is fun but the kind of game that’s extra fun when it doesn’t cost extra, and Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a solid entry in a beloved franchise.

If nothing else, that builds high hopes for the State of Play and the PS Plus Extra games for June 2026. Fans can expect the announcement for the latter on June 10 ahead of their addition on June 16, unless something changes.
