PlayStation 5 gamers have an especially busy month to look forward to thanks to the release of some heavy hitters throughout October. The fall gaming rush is in full swing, and the PS5 has benefited greatly from the onslaught of new game releases. Ace Combat 8 reviews are already out, and so we already know that flight combat game is one of the better new game releases of the year. Reviews on the other upcoming PS5 games will have to wait, but we know that Enshrouded is a co-op survival game that has already earned high praise on PC, so it should be a safe bet. The Wolf Among Us Remastered is also likely an easy slam dunk, as it’s an enhanced version of an already-great game.
As far as completely brand-new releases go, it’s hard to pick which new PS5 October 2026 release is the most exciting. Valor Mortis is a promising and budget-friendly soulslike, while Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse marks the triumphant return of one of gaming’s most beloved franchises. Co-op gamers will likely get a kick out of We Were Here Tomorrow, and The Jackbox Party Pack 12 should be yet another solid entry in that party game franchise.
Phantom Blade Zero might just be the game that steals the show when it comes to new PS5 games releasing in October, though. The highly-anticipated action game has been eyed for years as a potential GOTY contender, and we will soon find out if it lives up to the hype.
