PlayStation 5 users looking for a new multiplayer title to boot up are in luck, as Aggro Crab and Landfall confirmed that its breakout 2025 title PEAK will arrive on all current-gen consoles in late October. PEAK‘s arrival on PS5 will come just over a year after the hit co-op title launched on Steam in June 2025.
In short, PEAK is a first-person climbing game in which up to four players must climb a mountain and overcome obstacles to reach the summit. However, players must also manage their personal resources and take advantage of any items they come across, while a single misstep can also lead to an untimely demise. Following its launch, PEAK was called one of the best co-op games of 2025. The hit title from Landfall and Aggro Crab is still considered one of the best friendslop games on Steam due to its replayability and affordable starting price of $7.99.
PEAK: Console Edition Comes to PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox on October 22
Soon, more players will experience one of the award-winning titles available on Steam for the first time. Aggro Crab and Landfall confirmed on social media that PEAK: Console Edition will be released digitally on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday, October 22, at 11AM Eastern. The developers confirmed that PEAK: Console Edition will have cross-play enabled from the start, meaning players can climb together on their platform of choice without worry. However, it is currently unclear what the upcoming console port’s starting price will be, so players must wait for more information from the development team.
Though PlayStation has doubled down on its push for digital exclusivity, Aggro Crab and Landfall stated that a physical edition of PEAK will be available on PS5 that includes a game disc and an extra game code to pass to a friend. An additional sticker pack will also be included with each physical copy. Though the physical edition has no definitive release window, the developers confirmed that copies will ship sometime later in 2026. Landfall stated that a physical edition of PEAK is being worked on for Switch 2, though the team has no plans for a physical launch on Xbox Series X.
The upcoming console ports of PEAK will include all content updates released on the Steam version so far, including The Final Ascent patch that launched in August 2026. Although Aggro Crab and Landfall drew criticism over PEAK‘s patch cycle and mod support, the developers defended their work and said that any update is a bonus and not a right that players are entitled to. Following The Final Ascent update, the game will continue to receive maintenance updates and bug fixes as needed on all supported platforms. However, it is not known how frequent these updates will be moving forward.
Given that PEAK sold over 10 million copies following its launch, Aggro Crab jokingly admitted that the co-op hit fared better than its 2024 adventure title Another Crab’s Treasure. It remains to be seen how successful PEAK will be on consoles compared to it’s established base on Steam.
