A Red Dead Redemption 2 player with over 1,000 hours in the game has shared a disturbing experience unlike anything they’ve seen before. The spooky moment has managed to unnerve a number of fans in the Red Dead Redemption 2 community, as well.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the game that keeps on giving, in the sense that players seem to make new discoveries in the title regularly, despite the fact that the game is nearly eight years old. The open world is huge, and within it, Rockstar Games developers have hidden all kinds of tiny details that have gone unnoticed, as well as some intriguing Red Dead Redemption 2 mysteries. While this particular moment is more likely to be a glitch than an intentional thing, it’s something that most players have never seen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Gets Spooked by Creepy Coyote
A big fan of Red Dead Redemption 2, who has spent over 1,000 hours in the game across six separate playthroughs, had a bizarre moment with a coyote. Player cheesy_guy01 shared a gameplay video of the encounter, where they can be seen approaching the Stilt Shack where Wendell White and Sampson Black can sometimes be found, starting at about :40 in video. Arthur breaks through the door into the dark shack, only for a pair of eyes to be peering back at him. After a readjustment, the eyes are revealed to belong to a coyote, who is standing there largely motionless. After taking it in for a moment, Arthur kicks the coyote, which flees. However, that’s where the truly bizarre part begins.

Arthur goes outside to try and track the coyote, but the trail seems to have largely vanished. The player was probably shrugging off the encounter at this moment, and turned around to go back into the shack. Arthur starts gathering items from the room when a panting sound can be heard, and the player turns around to see a coyote’s glowing eyes yet again, staring him down in the dark shack. Not taking any chances this time, cheesy_guy01 gunned down the coyote.
Typically, animals shouldn’t spawn like this, and the fact that the coyote is simply staring at Arthur rather than attacking, fleeing, or even moving around is creeping out a number of gamers. Many have speculated that it’s likely just a glitch, but others are joking about the idea of the coyote being a skinwalker, with several noting that they would have also overreacted to the sight of it like cheesy_guy01 did. While it’s not necessarily the weirdest thing to ever happen to a Red Dead player, it would certainly be alarming to see a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness of a tiny room not just once, but twice.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has enough hidden content and tiny details to keep gamers occupied for hundreds of hours or more, with this just being one example. However, there’s more content on the way for the game by way of the Nuevo Paraiso unofficial DLC. In September, players will finally be able to visit Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2, and Sadie Adler will be in the limelight, as she will be a playable character. Whether gamers keep digging through the original game or look to mods for more content, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still popular years after its launch.
