A talented Resident Evil 2 fan has shown off their Claire Redfield cosplay, which is based on her appearance in the 2019 remake. This fan looks just like the popular character, and has even gone the extra mile by taking pictures of the cosplay in a run-down area to really give off some serious Resident Evil 2 vibes.

Resident Evil is one of the biggest franchises in all of gaming, with a dedicated fanbase going back over three decades now. The community frequently finds unique ways to pay tribute to the games online, and it takes something really great to stand out from the crowd. With so many recognizable characters, it’s no surprise that cosplay is one avenue many fans take to share their love for the franchise. In the wake of Resident Evil Requiem‘s release earlier this year, there was plenty of great Grace Ashcroft cosplay, celebrating a more recent fan favorite.

Impressive Resident Evil 2 Remake Cosplay Looks Just Like Claire Redfield

Over on Reddit, user SnowyySkylarr shared their cosplay of Resident Evil 2‘s Claire Redfield, recreating her iconic appearance from the 2019 remake. The cosplay has everything, from the red leather jacket to the weapon holster, and the Redditor even looks quite a bit like the character, too. To top it off, the image of the cosplay was taken at a run-down gas station, which they claim was a deliberate choice that “really closed the deal.”

The thread was filled with high praise for the cosplay, with one user saying, “Claire is one of those characters that seems simple at first, but the attitude and confidence really make the look.” Others pointed out the obvious similarities between SnowyySkylarr and the character, both in the remake and the original.

Claire Redfield was first introduced as one of two protagonists in 1998’s Resident Evil 2, and has appeared in several spin-off games since. Alongside Leon S. Kennedy, she returned in the game’s 2019 remake, but has yet to feature in any mainline games since. Rumors emerged earlier this year that Capcom is planning to bring back the character in future Resident Evil games, but these plans are yet to come to fruition. Of course, rumors like this should always be taken with a grain of salt, but it would be good to see her return, given how underutilized she has been throughout the series.

The future is bright for Resident Evil. After the enormous critical and commercial success of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has managed to build tons of hype for the franchise, and players want more. The good news is that Resident Evil Requiem is getting story DLC at some point, although the developer has yet to reveal exactly when it will arrive. Plans for more remakes leaked earlier this year, too, indicating fans have plenty to look forward to over the next few years.
