Resident Evil Requiem Director Has a Great Tip to Improve Leon Kennedy’s Aim

Resident Evil Requiem Director Has a Great Tip to Improve Leon Kennedy’s Aim

Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi spilled the beans on how players could improve Leon S. Kennedy’s aim in the game. Resident Evil Requiem features two protagonists, Leon and newbie Grace Ashcroft, who have distinct play styles to reflect their individual backgrounds.

Leon originally debuted in Resident Evil 2 as a rookie police officer at the Raccoon Police Department. He has since climbed up the ladder as an agent of the Division of Security Operations (DSO), tasked with investigating and protecting civilians from bioterrorism in America. Leon’s breadth of experience in combat has been shown in all the Resident Evil games that he’s starred in, and players can feel the stark contrast between his gameplay and Grace’s in Requiem. Even the weapons available for both characters are different, with Leon being given more options than Grace, who primarily uses a pistol.

Resident Evil Requiem Has a Trick to Improve Leon’s Shooting Accuracy

Director Koshi Nakanishi thinks players might not know that crouching can significantly improve Leon’s aim. In an interview with DenFacmicoGamer, Nakanishi revealed that if players fire their gun while crouching, the reticle will converge faster, making it easier to aim and shoot enemies more accurately. Peeking from behind a cover also has the same effect, with Nakanishi emphasizing that the reticle converges “even faster” while doing this. The director didn’t specify if this is applicable for both the first and third-person POVs for Leon, but there’s also no right or wrong way of controlling the character as perspective preference varies among Resident Evil Requiem players.

The jury’s still out if Resident Evil Requiem players have discovered this neat trick during their playthroughs, but Nakanishi pointed out that he has not seen anyone post about it online yet. Perhaps old players could test it out in their Resident Evil Requiem New Game Plus runs to see if crouching does indeed help Leon shoot the infected more accurately.

More Resident Evil Requiem Updates Coming

After the massive success of the base game, Resident Evil Requiem‘s story expansion DLC is already in the works at Capcom. In the same DenFamicoGamer interview, Nakanishi didn’t divulge any key details about the DLC, but mentioned that a mini-game will be added very soon. There’s speculation that Resident Evil Requiem‘s mini-game could be Mercenaries Mode.

Resident Evil Requiem already has a compelling story that sets up Leon and potentially Grace’s future in the franchise. However, avid players anticipate the DLC to address certain questions, like how the events of Resident Evil Outbreak tie in with the story, and whether Ada Wong would show up after being excluded from Requiem‘s story. Fans will have to wait and see what Capcom is cooking up for Resident Evil Requiem and the rest of the franchise in the coming months and years, especially with rumors that there are more remakes in the works.
