Resident Evil Requiem: How to Get JoJo’s Locker Key and Open the Briefcase in RPD

Resident Evil Requiem marks the franchise’s return to Raccoon City, and specifically, the Raccoon City Police Department. The Raccoon City Police Department, or RPD, was full of secrets and puzzles in Resident Evil 2, and the same is true for the mostly-destroyed iteration that appears in Resident Evil Requiem.

When Resident Evil Requiem players reach the RPD, they will come across a variety of puzzles to solve. Some of these are required to progress the story, but others are completely optional. One of the optional puzzles in Requiem involves solving Barry Burton’s scavenger hunt.

Resident Evil Requiem: How Long Does It Take to Beat?

Resident Evil Requiem, aka Resident Evil 9, boasts a runtime that lands somewhere in between the franchise’s shorter and longer entries.

Solving Barry’s scavenger hunt in Resident Evil Requiem nets players JoJo’s locker key, as well as the code to a briefcase. Using the key and inputting the code rewards players with powerful weapon charms, and so they should definitely go out of their way to complete Barry’s challenge.

Where to Find JoJo’s Locker Key in Resident Evil Requiem

To start Barry’s scavenger hunt and get JoJo’s locker key, make your way to the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the second floor of the RPD. To get there, head through the west door of the main lobby. Next, go through the only other open door into a hallway, then hang a left to the lit-up corridor that leads to the Reception room. Kill the zombie that shows up and go left again to reach a room with a ladder. Shoot the ladder down, climb it, and then proceed to the S.T.A.R.S. Office.

In the S.T.A.R.S. Office, check the jacket hanging on the wall for the first scavenger hunt clue. Then open the locker for the next clue. You have to look at these pictures for Leon to be able to pick up JoJo’s locker key. After examining the photos, backtrack to the bottom floor.

Return to the hall where you turned left to go to the ladder in the Reception room, but this time go straight ahead from the West Office. This will lead to the Operations Room, where you will spot the chalkboard from Barry’s photo. Next to the chalkboard is a crate Leon can stand on, allowing him to reach the TV hanging from the ceiling and snag JoJo’s locker key.

With the locker key in tow, go back to the West Office and open the locker to find some funny old-school Capcom Easter eggs, tickets to the zoo, and the S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm, which increases firepower at the cost of more sway while aiming.

Resident Evil Requiem Briefcase Code

The other half of Barry’s scavenger hunt requires players to find a code for a briefcase located in the backroom of the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Unlike the previous scavenger hunt where you have to look at the photos, you can simply skip some steps and input the code: RRR. This gets you the Power Shades Charm, which offers limitless bullet penetration and increases the firepower of the last bullet in the cylinder.

If you insist on going through each step of the second scavenger hunt, step one is reading Barry’s to-do list, located on his desk in the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Then head to Albert Wesker’s office (which is the sectioned-off room in the S.T.A.R.S. Office), and examine the desk drawer. Wait a beat, and a library check-out card will appear. Examine the card, and then go to the Library, accessible by going back to where you climbed the ladder and simply walking through the door.

Go up the library stairs, take a left, and then check the bookshelf on the right. Open the book to find a weird photo of Rebecca Chambers and the “RRR” clue needed to open the briefcase on the back.
