Resident Evil Requiem spoilers are all over the Internet, so anyone looking forward to playing the game next weekend should be very careful while scrolling through social media. Resident Evil Requiem, aka Resident Evil 9, is scheduled to launch on February 27 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X. The highly-anticipated survival-horror game has generated significant buzz since its reveal, with many fans excited to play the game for themselves.
Resident Evil Requiem will feature two playable protagonists in the form of newcomer Grace Ashcroft and franchise favorite Leon S. Kennedy. Whereas Grace’s segments are intense first-person horror in the vein of Resident Evil 7 and Village, Leon’s have a greater focus on action and mowing down zombies. Fans are excited to see how these two styles pair together, and they are also excited to see where Requiem‘s narrative takes Grace and Leon.
Resident Evil Requiem is Officially Bringing Leon Back to Raccoon City After 28 Years
Leon S. Kennedy is officially returning to the Resident Evil franchise when Resident Evil Requiem launches next year.
Resident Evil Requiem’s Entire Story Has Leaked Online
In an official capacity, Capcom has kept much of Resident Evil Requiem‘s story secret, but trailers have confirmed a return to the destroyed Raccoon City and new villain Victor Gideon. Unfortunately, Resident Evil Requiem physical copies have ended up in the hands of some people well ahead of schedule, leading to livestreams of the unreleased game and spoilers flooding the Internet. Resident Evil Requiem spoilers are all over social media, and so I highly recommend anyone hoping to experience the story for themselves spoiler-free completely avoid social media between now and the game’s launch on February 27.

I won’t get into the Resident Evil Requiem spoilers here, but fans should be cautious that the entire game has effectively leaked online. This means basically every surprise has been spoiled. Resident Evil fans have been waiting five years for a brand-new main series installment, and so it would be a shame for any of them to get Resident Evil Requiem‘s story spoiled for them. After all, it will likely be quite some time before we get another brand-new, main series entry in the Resident Evil franchise.
Resident Evil 10 is At Least 3 Years Away
According to the latest leaks, the next few years of Resident Evil releases have already been planned by Capcom. If the leaks are accurate, it seems as though Resident Evil Requiem will be getting DLC at some point later this year. Then, in 2027, Resident Evil – Code: Veronica is getting a remake, followed by a Resident Evil Zero remake in 2028. Then, barring any delays, Resident Evil 10 is expected to launch in 2029 or thereabouts.
If Resident Evil 10 does manage to launch in 2029, it will be a surprisingly fast turn-around for a main series entry. There were five years between Resident Evil 6 and 7, and four years between 7 and Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil Requiem‘s 2026 launch marks another five years between brand-new, main series games. Perhaps a 2030 launch is a little more realistic for Resident Evil 10, but at this point it’s way too early to make a call either way.
Assuming the leaks are accurate, one has to imagine that Resident Evil Requiem‘s rumored DLC will be announced within the next six months, followed by the reveal of the Code: Veronica remake not long after. While leaks and spoilers aren’t really relevant for the Resident Evil remake projects that are in the pipeline, here’s hoping that the story details for Requiem‘s DLC are kept secret until it’s actually out, and that Resident Evil 10 avoids having its entire story spoiled online like what has happened with Requiem.
