Diablo 2: Resurrected players have the chance to be enshrined on a statue at Blizzard’s Irvine campus if they are one of the first 300 players to reach level 99 on Hardcore as a Warlock. With the debut of Diablo 2: Resurrected Ladder Season 13 and the release of the Reign of the Warlock DLC, Blizzard is celebrating the occasion by letting fans become a part of history with this challenge. The event kicked off when Ladder Season 13 went live on February 20 at 5pm PST and runs until 300 verified level 99 Hardcore Warlocks emerge.
The recent shadow-drop release of the Reign of the Warlock DLC marks the first new content for Diablo 2 in nearly 25 years. This Diablo 2: Resurrected DLC is only the first instance of the Warlock class appearing in the franchise this year, as Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred will be getting the Warlock at launch, and the class will also join Diablo Immortal in Summer 2026. In the meantime, Diablo 2: Resurrected players can join the race to get their name on a statue at Blizzard’s headquarters by hitting level 99 on Hardcore with a Warlock.
Diablo 2: Resurrected’s Best Warlock Skill Basically Turns the Game into Pokemon
Diablo 2: Resurrected essentially lets Warlocks play as if it was a Pokemon game by using one of the game’s most unique skills to date.
300 Diablo 2: Resurrected Warlock Players Can Get Their Names on a Statue at Blizzard
In a recent blog post shared on X, Blizzard unveiled the details of this Diablo 2: Resurrected Hardcore Warlock contest. To be eligible for this contest, players will have to provide their Battle Tag and a screenshot showing level 99 completion with a Hardcore Warlock. The first 300 verified players to meet these requirements will get their Battle Tag included on The Grimoire of the Unfallen statue, which will be placed at Blizzard’s Irvine campus once completed.
There are no regional restrictions on this contest, so Diablo 2: Resurrected players from all over the world can participate.

This isn’t the first time Blizzard has offered a similar challenge, with players having a chance to get their Battle Tag enshrined on a statue of Lilith after the release of Diablo 4 back in 2023. The first 1,000 players to reach level 100 on Hardcore mode in Diablo 4 had their Battle Tags carved on a statue of Lilith that now resides at Blizzard’s Irvine campus, and will soon be joined by Diablo 2: Resurrected‘s Grimoire of the Unfallen. However, this latest contest is even more exclusive, given that only 300 players get to have their names included instead of the previous 1,000.
Reaching Level 99 with a Warlock in Diablo 2: Resurrected is No Easy Task
Competing with other Diablo 2: Resurrected players seems like the most challenging part of this contest, but even reaching level 99 with a Hardcore character is a monumental task in itself. The Steam Achievement for this challenge in Diablo 2: Resurrected is nearly impossible without investing a ton of time and taking the game slowly and playing cautiously. As of right now, only 0.1% of Diablo 2 players on Steam have even earned this achievement, and the numbers for other platforms are similarly small.
Thankfully, the new Warlock class is one of the strongest Diablo 2 has ever seen, and there are a few great build options that can help players reach that level 99 mark on Hardcore. Echoing Strike Warlock has the highest DPS potential of the class’s build options, but the Fire Warlock, with skills like Flame Wave and Apocalypse, may be a safer option for Hardcore players. A Hardcore run of Diablo 2 can quickly be ended by annoying enemies like Undead Stygian Dolls, so utilizing skills like Flame Wave that deal damage while keeping enemies at bay with knockback may be a good strategy.
