Saros, Housemarque’s latest third-person roguelite shooter, has just received another post-launch update. This marks the third patch Saros has received since its launch on PlayStation 5 on April 30.
While it’s reportedly sold just 300,000 copies since launch and could be struggling to recoup its development costs, Saros has been a big hit with critics. On OpenCritic, Saros is sitting at a Top Critic Average of 87 with a recommendation score of 91%. GameRant’s own Dalton Cooper gave Saros a 9/10 in his review, praising the game’s accessibility, boss fights, and “exhilarating” combat, but stating that the game can feel a bit too repetitive at times.

Reports claim that Saros’ early sales have been below expectations for a PS5 exclusive, especially considering its relatively high budget.
Saros Gets a New Update for May 13
Over the last few weeks, Saros has received a total of three post-launch updates. The first of these arrived on May 5 and primarily focused on balancing and tweaking gameplay elements such as improving the accuracy of bullet bounces and adding damage scaling to Saros‘ Powered Dash Artifact. The second Saros update arrived just two days later and brought some fixes for some world design issues, such as a rare issue of a door not opening in the Cathedral biome and missing background assets in the game’s prologue.

On May 13, Saros received its third and most recent post-launch update. Titled the “01.004.002 Patch,” this latest Saros update fixes a handful of progression-related bugs. Some of the most notable changes include a fix for an issue where enemies could be healed from outside the combat arena in certain biomes, a fix for an elevator clipping issue, a fix for a phase transition issue between the Shepherd and Priestess boss fights, and a fix for a rare crash encountered when some players would manually restart their cycle while in the Yellow Shore.
A bug involving two of Saros‘ trophies was also addressed in this most recent update. The trophies in question are ‘Vincible’ and ‘Untouchable.” The first of these trophies requires the player to complete one of Saros‘ biomes without ever using the shield, while the second tasks the player with completing a biome without ever taking direct, non-Corruption damage or losing their Adrenaline streak. According to Housemarque’s official patch notes, this latest update has fixed an issue where these trophies were being unlocked at the wrong time.
