September 8 Is Going To Be A Big Day for Pokemon GO

After previously teasing players, Scopely fully reveals Twilight Trails as the upcoming season for Pokemon GO, confirming plenty of new events, Paldean Pokemon debuts, and more upcoming content. It’s been a busy year already for Pokemon GO, which celebrated its milestone 10-year anniversary back on July 6, but has continued to reward players with special events and other activities throughout 2026 so far.

Pokemon GO is wrapping up one of its biggest summer seasons in a while. In celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary, Pokemon GO‘s Forever Forward season featured a number of major milestone events, like GO Fest Global and the arrival of Mega Mewtwo X and Y in a special New York City activity that took place in Times Square. Zeraora also made its debut into the game, players were able to team up with the Team Leaders in weekly quests, and a new Pikachu variant dressed like Professor Willow was also available for the first time. With the new season, Pokemon GO is heading into the fall season with some new surprises in store.

Pokemon GO Raised The Price of Its Best Shop Item

Developer Scopely quietly raises the cost of one of Pokemon GO’s most popular in-game shop items ahead of major upcoming events.

Pokemon GO’s Twilight Trails Season Confirmed for September 8, 2026

Following a short teaser trailer for Pokemon GO Twilight Trails, the full details of the new season have finally arrived. Officially beginning on September 8, the new season will run for three months before ending on December 1. In terms of raids and max battles, Twilight Trails will also see the debut of a bunch of Pokemon. Specifically, Pokemon GO confirmed that Mega Staraptor and Chandelure will be featured, while teasing more to come. In fact, players will be able to face off against them starting with the Mega Squads event during this season. Pokemon GO Max Battles will also be getting Dynamax versions of Rhyhorn, Sneasel, Sizzlipede, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf as well.

New dates have also been confirmed with the reveal of Twilight Trails. While Scopely is keeping the featured Pokemon under wraps for now, fans can mark down the next 3 Community Day dates for Pokemon GO. September’s Community Day Classic takes place on September 12, while the next normal versions of the events will be on October 12 and November 21.

The upcoming GO Pass was also highlighted for the length of Twilight Trails, with an image showcasing the three legendaries to be featured. The GO Pass is a time-limited progression mechanic featuring a free and paid version, typically available for a month. Players can earn a variety of rewards by progressing through it after completing challenges and other activities. At Rank 100, players can capture a specific legendary Pokemon for that month, with Twilight Trails confirming Kyogre, Groudon, and Latios for the next three GO Passes. Major milestones take place at every 25 levels and include passive bonuses like an increase to earned XP, double daily adventure incense duration, increased limits on gifts, and more.
