From the moment 4-year-old Cameron first stepped out into Glimmer in Spyro 2, he knew video games were going to play a central role in the rest of his life. Though he never planned to make it the focal point of his career, Cameron spent the vast majority of his spare time growing up playing games, and following graduation from the University of Reading, he thought he’d try his hand at writing a few reviews. Six years later, Cameron has reviewed countless games, written thousands of news and feature pieces, and interviewed a wide range of developers for GameRant.

Konami and Bloober Team have just released a surprise update for Silent Hill 2. This new Silent Hill 2 update is aimed at those playing on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles, with it bringing a range of fixes and technical improvements to the acclaimed survival horror game.

Silent Hill 2 Gets New Update on PS5

On August 7, Konami shared on its social media accounts that Silent Hill 2 had received a brand-new update on PlayStation 5. Simply titled the ‘1.07 patch’, this new Silent Hill 2 update focuses on improving the game’s performance in both Quality and Performance mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro. More specifically, the official Konami patch notes for this Silent Hill 2 update state that “overall visual quality” has been improved, as have the visuals of the in-game fog.

Some simple but important fixes have also been included in this recent Silent Hill 2 update. Visual glitches on “various assets” have been fixed, as has a visual artifact issue. A shadow flickering issue has also been resolved. This update should download automatically for anyone who already has Silent Hill 2 downloaded on their PS5 or PS5 Pro, but players can also manually update the game via the drop-down menu that appears when clicking the DualSense’s Options button when hovering over Silent Hill 2 on the home screen.
