March has arrived, spring is almost here, and we’re officially in peak release season for the first half of 2026. Indie games like Scott Pilgrim EX and Planet of Lana 2 arrive alongside first-party console releases like Marathon and Pokémon Pokopia. It would have been great if these games had all been slightly delayed so I could just spend all of my time getting lost in Slay the Spire 2 instead. Big sequels to major Steam hits have high expectations to live up to. I hope Mega Crit Games can manage the burden.
Longtime Kotaku readers may remember that we used to run a short weekly feature called “The Week In Games.” Like it says on the tin, it was a list of all the upcoming games releasing the following week. After several years on hiatus, we’ve decided to bring it back. It will hopefully be a helpful tool for sorting through the ever-growing release calendar and also double as a Monday morning open thread where in the comments you can share what you’re looking forward to and which games you’ll be playing in the days ahead.
