Destiny 2 players are having issues logging into the game on The Final Shape launch day, and Bungie is looking into the issues being reported by the community. These issues are causing a lot of frustration among Destiny 2 players wanting to experience the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga.
In Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players will infiltrate the heart of the Traveler and battle the forces of Darkness, led by the Witness. In order to face the powerful enemies lying in wait, players can harness new powerful Prismatic powers and raise their power level with new gear drops as they progress through the campaign and participate in new activities. Moreover, the launch of Destiny 2:The Final Shape introduced new Dungeons and Dragons crossover armor in the Eververse store. Unfortunately, some players are unable to access any of the new content from The Final Shape, due to persistent login issues.

The official Bungie Help Twitter account notified users that Destiny 2 players are experiencing login issues while attempting to start The Final Shape, alerting the community of background maintenance that’s being conducted. These issues include a prompt saying that “Destiny 2 servers are not available” and players being placed in a queue that doesn’t log them into the directory. Bungie encourages players to restart their game, console, or launcher on PC in order to alleviate the login issues. However, several Twitter users are frustrated, stating that they’re still unable to log into the game after following Bungie’s advice. In addition, some users who were able to log in and play the Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion don’t have access to certain features, such as the Annual Pass.
Bungie Addresses Destiny 2 Login Issues on The Final Shape Launch Day
In a subsequent Twitter post, Bungie confirmed that background maintenance for Destiny 2: The Final Shape has been extended as the team continues to investigate and work on remedying the game’s immediate problems. Thus far, the development team has found an issue that involves the game’s API, so the ability to swap weapon perks has been temporarily disabled. This includes the pool of perks found on Destiny 2’s best ritual weapons.
The launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape has not been smooth for many players, but Bungie is working hard to ensure players can experience the new expansion as soon as possible. Once the game is in a better state, players will be able to experience a comprehensive campaign and prepare for the upcoming raid. Further, Destiny 2’s first episode, titled Echoes, will feature new content in different acts released throughout the coming months.
