Some Sims 4 Players Keep Making And Sharing Jeffrey Epstein

Some Sims 4 Players Keep Making And Sharing Jeffrey Epstein

A Sims 4 player has created and uploaded a Jeffrey Epstein family to the game’s online content gallery. The family features multiple children wearing only towels. It is one of many Epstein-related creations shared on The Sims 4‘s gallery, some of which have been around for months or even years.

In January, more of convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s files and emails were released to the public. This has once again kicked up interest online in the now-dead criminal sex offender and his island, where allegedly many rich and powerful people were invited to partake in parties allegedly involving underage children. And at least one person, upon seeing all this back in the news, hopped onto The Sims 4 to create a digital “family” featuring Epstein and seven partially nude children.

As spotted by a poster on the Sims 4 subreddit on March 2, a new user uploaded the family “NPC Children Townies” to the game’s free user gallery. This is a place where players can share user-created builds and characters with other players for free. While the “NPC Children Townies” title doesn’t directly name Epstein, it uses a model heavily inspired by the real person, and which appears to be based on (or directly ripped from) other Epstein characters available on the gallery. Because yeah, there are a few of them floating around The Sims 4 and its user gallery.

On the Sims 4 subreddit, players were upset by the new Epstein-themed family featuring half-naked kids. “This is absolutely despicable,” said one user. “This is just disgusting,” said another. Plenty of users also complained that EA’s moderation of creations in the past has been overly strict, yet these Epstein creations are able to make it onto the gallery and stick around.

Kotaku was able to confirm in-game that there are multiple Epstein characters available to download. Some of these are explicitly named Jeffrey Epstein or some variation on that. Some of these are from earlier this year. One of the most popular features both Epstein and one of his associates, convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell.

Simply titled “Epstein,” this duo was uploaded to the gallery back in 2023, and over 1,000 users have downloaded the criminal pair. The description for the created duo simply reads “Great with kids.” Both the “NPC Children Townies” family and the “Epstein” duo were still available to download as of March 2 at 4:20 p.m. EST.

Kotaku has contacted EA about the Epstein creations on the Sims 4 gallery, but did not hear back before publication.
