Developer GSC Game World has just confirmed that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl‘s Cost of Hope expansion and its 2.0 update will launch on August 20, 2026. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl‘s Cost of Hope DLC was first announced back in March, and while details are still scarce, it’s said to feature new story missions, weapons, and locations to explore.
STALKER 2: Cost of Hope Is Releasing on August 20, 2026
Announced via a brief YouTube trailer, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl‘s Cost of Hope expansion will officially launch on August 20, 2026 for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. According to a recently released press release, the upcoming STALKER 2 DLC will feature “dozens of hours of content,” including “uncharted locations…unexpected allies and enemies…powerful weapons, and…a gripping new story.”
On the same day, STALKER 2 will receive its long-awaited 2.0 update. Exact details of this major patch’s content are unknown at the time of writing, but it is confirmed that it will update the game to a newer build of Unreal Engine 5. While STALKER 2‘s 2.0 update will be free for all players, the Cost of Hope expansion will come with a premium price tag, though it’s currently unconfirmed how much it’ll set fans back.
