Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu Burger King Bounty Meal Review

The first new Star Wars movie in over six years means two things: We are getting a new cinematic adventure set in that galaxy, far, far away, and also different companies will have limited-time merch to celebrate the next big film. This time around, for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Burger King and Lucasfilm have teamed up to create a whole new tie-in meal featuring a burger, chicken fries, loaded tots, a milkshake, and a cardboard crown designed for a child.

I don’t have kids. But I still wanted to check out this new Bounty Bundle meal.

This desire to check out the new meal led to an awkward moment where a fast food worker walked out to my car to hand me the cardboard crown and food, likely expecting a child, and found a grown man who felt so much shame he could barely look at the person bringing the bundle of Star Wars food to his car’s window.

On the plus side, the burger, shake, and tots were so good that I didn’t mind being judged for my choices. Or how I was likely being judged by those inside the Burger King for sitting in the parking lot, eating the meal, and having my wife take photos of the food.

The Star Wars Bounty Bundle is a collection of several new, limited-time menu items that are currently being sold at Burger Kings across the country. In my neck of the woods, the full bundle costs $23. So what do you get inside the Bounty Bundle?

Here’s what you get in the Star Wars Bounty Bundle meal

The star of the promo is a large BBQ Bounty Whopper burger that features BBQ sauce, Swiss cheese, bacon, and crispy pickle chips. And this was a solid burger with some nice flavors and shockingly crisp pickle chips that gave it a fun texture and a bit of sci-fi look. The other big winner from the bundle was the Imperial Cheddar Ranch Tots. These crispy tots contain warm cheddar cheese, bits of potato, and some ranch flavoring. I could eat a 40 of these if I were allowed to do so, and I’d feel horrible, but I’d be happy.

There’s also Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake, which is a vanilla milkshake with a birthday cake-like flavor topped with blue cookie crumbs. The shake was a bit sweet, but not horrible. However, the cookie bits got goopy over time and didn’t add much to the experience.

Last and certainly least were Grogu’s Garlic Chicken Fries. I think Chicken Fries are a scam spread by fast food chains to trick people into spending money on less chicken than if they just bought some tenders or nuggets. And these were no different, containing little chicken and instead being mostly fried sticks of bland breading. The meal does include some garlic butter to dip the sticks into, and that helps, but I could stick some cuetips into garlic butter, and they’d taste awesome, too.

All of these items can be bought separately, which I might recommend if you are an adult and don’t want to sit in a Burger King parking lot waiting for a staff member to carry out your dumb Star Wars box, complete with a collectible plastic cup and cardboard crown. It didn’t even fit my head. However, ordering the menu items separately means you might have to say “Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake” out loud, and that might be worse than getting a cardboard box filled with silly Star Wars food hand-delivered to your car.

I say you just avoid all of this, order the tasty tots and burger via Uber Eats, and make sure to tip your driver well. This is the way.
