Starfield’s PS5 Release Date Has Been Leaked

Starfield’s PS5 Release Date Has Been Leaked

A new report claims the long-awaited PlayStation 5 version of Starfield will be released on April 7, 2026. As Xbox continues to bring more first-party titles to PlayStation, rumors that Starfield will make its way to PS5 have circulated online for months. Although neither Microsoft, Sony, nor Bethesda has ever commented on the controversial space RPG coming to PS5, a trusted source claims its release is just two months away.

As the first new universe from Bethesda in 25 years, hype and anticipation for Starfield were through the roof prior to its release in 2023. Unfortunately, the RPG was met with criticism and disappointment, as players felt as though it failed to live up to the hype. Critic reviews, on the other hand, were much more favorable. Starfield has an 83 score on Metacritic, as journalists praised the title as an “excellent RPG.” Unfortunately, Bethesda fans didn’t feel the same way. Three years on, Starfield reviews are still “mixed” on Steam, with fans blasting the limitations of the Creation Engine, the non-stop loading screens, lackluster exploration, and more. Things didn’t improve with the Shattered Space DLC either, which has a “mostly negative” rating at the time of writing.

An Original Star Wars Story is Available to Play Now, and It’s Technically Free

Gamers can play a completely original Star Wars story right now, and it’s technically free.

Starfield May Come to PS5 in April 2026

Despite the lackluster reviews, that doesn’t appear to have stopped Bethesda from continuing to support Starfield with new updates and now a potential PS5 port. According to a new report from PPE, which has a source by the name of Graczdari who accurately leaked Microsoft Flight Simulator‘s PS5 port before an official announcement, Starfield is coming to PS5 on April 7, 2026. While this has yet to be confirmed by Bethesda, Graczdari works with physical game releases in Europe and appears to have been informed that Standard and Premium Editions of Starfield will launch for PS5 in just two months’ time.

The report doesn’t provide any information about the also long-rumored 2.0 update for Starfield, but it’s possible that Bethesda plans to launch the major patch on the same day as its PS5 port. Numerous content creators and journalists claim to have been shown the update behind closed doors last year, and while they can’t comment on the contents of the update, some have suggested that, although substantial, it won’t be on the same level as Cyberpunk 2077‘s 2.0 update, which overhauled large portions of the game. If Bethesda is planning a PS5 version of Starfield, it would make sense to launch a big update alongside it to give fans a reason to jump in and check it out.

If this rumor is to be believed, an announcement could be imminent. While leaks should always be taken with a pinch of salt, Sony is reportedly planning a new State of Play event for February 2026, which would be the perfect time to reveal such a massive PS5 port. Trusted insider NateTheHate says the showcase will take place this month, but did not provide details on what games will be shown. With first-party titles like Saros and Marvel’s Wolverine set to arrive later this year, fans will likely be hoping to see more from the highly anticipated titles.

It should be noted, however, that PPE’s source was recently incorrect about the claim that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delaying its physical release. While the insider has been correct in the past, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently shut down the claim during the company’s quarterly earnings call, saying it is “not the plan” to release the game digitally and physically on separate dates. While it was speculated that Rockstar was delaying the physical release to later in the year, or possibly even 2027, to avoid spoilers leaking online, it looks like that’s not the case.
