A new Steam promotion has made two games free for a limited time, specifically between now and 10am PT/12 pm CT on August 24. Steam is a mainstay in conversations when it comes ot the best free PC games on the internet (whether free-to-play, play-for-free, or free-to-keep promotions), and sometimes the best games end up in its Free Weekend Promotion. It’s not as lucrative, typically, as the beloved Steam Free-to-Keep Promotion, but Steam Free Weekends are a good way to get a few hours under someone’s belt.
It’s worth noting that this free game promotion follows Steam’s Free-to-Keep giveaway of Deponia and also precedes the next. Steam will be giving away Dokimon Quest beginning August 24, so Steam users should be sure to give it a download around 10 am PT/12 pm CT that day. Before then, though, Steam users have two free game options for the weekend.

The current Steam Free Weekend Promotion includes Front Mission 3 Remake and Over the Top: WWI until 10 am PT/12 pm CT on August 24. As a Free Weekend promotion, this means users will be able to download and play the game to their leisure until the aforementioned time, at which point it will no longer be available for free. Steam Users Can Play Front Mission 3 Remake for Completely Free Until August 24
Front Mission 3 Remake is a tactical RPG for Steam users that puts them in control of Kazuki Takemura and his friend Ryogo as they become caught up in a military conflict tied to a much larger conspiracy. An early decision splits the story into two different routes, with each following its own characters, challenges, and perspective on the conflict. Along the way, players will customize their mechs, manage their squad, and fight through turn-based battles while uncovering secrets involving corporations, governments, and a dangerous weapon project. Over The Top: WWI is a large-scale multiplayer Steam game built around destruction, with battles taking place across fully destructible battlefields that can be reshaped by players. Up to 200 players can fight across the same map as soldiers from France, Britain, or Germany, with classes ranging from riflemen and engineers to flamethrower specialists and officers who can call in airstrikes.
