Steam Users Can Claim 2026 Adventure Game 100% Free Before It’s Delisted Forever

Steam Users Can Claim 2026 Adventure Game 100% Free Before It’s Delisted Forever

Steam users have a very limited window to pick up the 2026 adventure game The Leather Maker before it’s delisted from the platform and made unavailable forever. Despite only launching last month, the developer has opted to retire the Steam game so that players are no longer able to get it in the future.

It’s always sad when a game is delisted on Steam, but developers usually have their reasons. It’s a positive and a negative of the digital era. Developers can choose to take a game down when necessary, but it also means the game could disappear forever, which is a massive shame. It’s always worth keeping an eye out for games planned to be delisted on Steam, because once they’re gone, it’s very rare that they return.

Steam Users Can Claim a 10/10 Masterpiece Completely Free of Charge on September 9

On September 9, Steam users have the opportunity to download a 10/10 masterpiece completely free of charge and keep it forever.

Claim The Leather Maker For Free on Steam Before It’s Gone Forever

According to an announcement from solo dev Drew Thomas, The Leather Maker is set to be delisted from Steam. However, those who have the game in their libraries when it’s removed will be able to keep and play it forever. The Leather Maker is already 100% free on Steam, so it costs nothing for gamers to add it to their libraries before it’s gone.

The developer has not confirmed when The Leather Maker will be delisted from Steam, only that it will happen “as soon as possible.” Taking a game down from Steam isn’t as simple as hitting one button; it involves submitting a request form to Valve. In most cases of delisted games, the wait is on Valve’s end rather than the developer, so it’s unclear when The Leather Maker will be removed. That’s just all the more reason to grab it as soon as possible, though – it could be delisted at any time, after which it will likely remain gone forever.

The game itself is described as a “narrative adventure set amidst the bustling streets and uncertain fortunes of Boston in the year of 1773.” Players play as Prince Hall, a leather maker who must “contend with matters nearer his own hearth: a son seeking his own path, a beloved companion, trusted friends, and a community searching for its place in the world.” What really stands out about the game, though, is its adorable art style, which gives it a unique flavor.

There aren’t many user reviews for the game on Steam – nine in total. One describes The Leather Maker as a “short, chill game with a lot of heart,” with most enjoying its relaxing vibe and engaging story. Since it’s 100% free, the only thing players can lose by trying it is time. Once it has been added to a Steam library, it stays there forever, so it’s worth claiming even if it’s just going to go into a backlog to play further down the line.
