The Blood of Dawnwalker has only been available for a short time, but Rebel Wolves’ dark fantasy RPG is already making a pretty big impression, with a special deal giving some Steam users a chance to check it out on the cheap. The game launched to strong critical reception and has quickly found an audience, with more than 1 million copies sold in its first three days. Normally, that would make getting the game for almost nothing a pretty ridiculous proposition, but one Fanatical promotion is giving some lucky Steam users a chance to do exactly that.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is the debut game from Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by former CD Projekt Red developers, and it puts players in the middle of a vampire-infested version of 14th-century Europe. Players control Coen, a young man transformed into a half-human, half-vampire Dawnwalker who has 30 days and nights to save his family. The RPG mixes open-world exploration, sword combat, vampiric abilities, branching decisions, and a time system that forces players to decide how they want to spend their limited time. The game has also earned an 83 Metascore from critics (and an 8.3 from users), making it one of the more notable releases of September.
