It’s also worth noting that this is not part of Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion or Free-to-Play Events, although the latter is currently letting folks play NBA 2K26 free on Steam. Truthfully, a basketball simulation game is a pretty far cry from the current selection of freebies (or at least the games associated with them), but fans may be able to enjoy both if they have a wide selection of video games.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered/Wolf Among Us 2 developer Telltale Games is currently hosting a Choices Matter Festival on Steam, where fans can pick up a wide range of choice-driven games at steep discounts. In addition, however, there is a selection of freebies: 1 Animated Frame + 4 Stickers. It’s fun because on the host page, listed above, Steam users can read through the prompts and then make a decision themselves, like any good dialogue option. After proceeding through the dialogue options, submitting 3 responses in total, users automatically snag the above items. Users should just be sure to check their Steam inventories to ensure they received them before moving on.

The Choices Matter Festival is listed as lasting through August 17—complete with steep discounts, special broadcasts, and demos—so users may be able to grab these freebies through then and should otherwise be prepared to claim them ASAP. It’s obviously a celebration of Telltale-style games, as well as the Choices Matter tag on Steam, which denotes games where player decisions have a meaningful impact on the story, characters, or outcome. These games often feature branching storylines, multiple endings, changing relationships, or consequences that carry over from one decision to the next. While the exact implementation varies from game to game, the tag essentially tells players that their choices are more than simple dialogue options.
For those interested in more than the freebies (which, if that’s all, is totally fair), there are a plethora of discounts on choice-and-narrative games.
