Steam users can claim one of five free keys from KeyXP, but there is a catch: they must complete an anonymous survey first. Steam’s official free-to-keep promotions have felt a bit sparse in the final days of June, leaving PC users hoping for more giveaways in July.
While the current promotion is not part of Steam’s 2026 free-to-keep events, it still comes from a reliable source that has been giving away free keys for some time. KeyXP is part of GameDiscoverCo, an analysis firm focused on PC gaming. The company often uses free Steam keys to encourage players to complete surveys about video games and consumer opinions.
All the Free Games You Can Claim in June 2026

All players need to do to claim one is answer a set of questions about PC gaming. The keys are distributed randomly, meaning there is no guarantee of receiving any specific featured game. Fans should also note that participating in the giveaway requires entering Steam and Discord credentials, though KeyXP will only access each account’s publicly available information.

Overview of Every Featured Game
- Yono and the Celestial Elephants – Released in 2017, Yono is an isometric adventure game focused on puzzle-solving, exploration, and light combat. It follows a cute elephant on a journey to uncover the secrets of its world using special abilities.
- Reky – An isometric abstract puzzle game with Monument Valley vibes. Reky features over 90 levels built around logic-driven puzzles designed to keep players engaged for hours.
- Passing By: A Tailwind Journey – A 2D puzzle-platformer where a girl must deliver a package while navigating unusual paths and obstacles.
- Spitkiss – A colorful 2D platformer where players move from point A to point B by navigating creatively designed obstacle-based puzzles.
- AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected – An anime-inspired first-person roguelite with a lighthearted story.
According to KeyXP, the company uses public data from users’ accounts as well as their survey responses to create case studies and industry analysis. For example, it might use the collected data to show what other PC strategy games players of Sid Meier’s Civilization tend to play more often, or which groups of players pay more attention to traditional game reviews. The company has also explained that one of the reasons it asks for Discord or Steam credentials is to prevent automated bots from filling out the surveys.
One thing to note is that every game featured in KeyXP’s giveaway is currently discounted by 80% to 90%, with most of them dropping to under $2 USD. In other words, the free key earned from the survey may not be the biggest saving, though free is still free, and many PC users will likely appreciate the opportunity. On the positive side, most of the indie Steam games featured in the promotion currently hold positive reviews on the platform, except for AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected, which sits at “Mixed” as of writing.
