Waiting for a deal to pick up a game is essentially a time-honored tradition for gamers, and so those who have waited five years are in for a treat at a discount, should they choose to pick it up on Steam before the promotional period ends.
Five years is a respectable period of time for any game in terms of growth, and just as much when waiting for a discount, but it’s certainly a choice with Cyberpunk 2077 because of how far it’s come/numerous deals over the years. It’s essentially beating the dead horse now to mention how terrible the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077 was, up to and including the open-world RPG being removed from the PlayStation Store for its numerous issues. Slowly but surely, though, Cyberpunk 2077 rebuilt its reputation, released the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion, and earned back not just the respect, but the admiration of the fanbase. The anticipation behind the upcoming releases of The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk‘s sequel simply would not be the same had CDPR not corrected the ship.

Despite the massive improvements over the years, it’s understandable if someone has put off buying and playing Cyberpunk 2077. However, that also makes the current sale a hard deal to pass on. Cyberpunk 2077 is currently on sale for $17.99, down 70% from its asking price of $59.99, marking its historically lowest price on Steam according to Steamdb sales information. Anyone interested should be sure to take advantage of this deal before it expires on June 25 at 9 am PT/12 pm ET. What’s more, there’s also a bundle on sale, including Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty DLC expansion at a 60% discount, making it $33.10 for both (down from $82.78). How long this bundle is available in proportion to the base game discount remains to be seen.

And while Cyberpunk 2077 launch reviews are a different story, it’s worth noting that they are in a very good place on Steam. Its overall English reviews, after 377K user reviews, sit at a very pretty 88% Very Positive. Recent reviews are slightly more glowing, with 600+ recent submissions giving it a 93% Very Positive review score. Obviously, Cyberpunk 2077‘s reputation has changed dramatically since launch.
What was once known for bugs and technical issues is now widely viewed as one of gaming’s biggest comeback stories. Steam users regularly praise its story, characters, world-building, visuals, soundtrack, and the sheer atmosphere of Night City. Some players still feel the open world doesn’t offer as much freedom or simulation as initially expected, but those complaints are far less common today. The current consensus is simple: Cyberpunk 2077 finally became the game many hoped it would be, and it’s now considered one of the best open-world games of the past decade.
