Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion Has 4* Upcoming 100% Free Games for July and August 2026

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion Has 4* Upcoming 100% Free Games for July and August 2026

Thanks to backend information and data, Steam users already know 3 games, plus 1 additional freebie, that are coming to its popular Free-to-Keep Promotion in July and August 2026. Unfortunately, with the way the promotion works, no one knows when these games will go live. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion turns paid, premium games into free games for a limited time, requiring players to claim them before a specific expiry date, but very little fanfare goes into their FTK promo period. In other words, these free game promotions are easy to miss.

It’s also worth noting that many of these games are available via cheap deals right now on the Steam Summer Sale, giving players interested in any of them two choices. They can buy them right now for cheap, guaranteeing a cheaper purchase with a longer window (the Steam Summer Sale ends July 9), or fans can wait, keep an eye out for the promotion to go live, and snag it for free. Whatever they choose, there are some solid options right now.

All The Free Games You Can Claim In July 2026

Don’t miss a single July 2026 free game given away on Steam, Amazon Prime Gaming, Epic Games Store, Game Pass, and PS Plus.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion currently lists The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante and Yet Another Zombie Defense HD as 2 games coming in July, but #3* is a bit of a caveat. Right now, it’s listed as a free content pack (the Lost Explorers’ Swords Pack), so it’s not a full game. However, it’s for a game that’s yet to be released—The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu. With the game releasing on July 15, it seems fans can expect this promotional free content to go live via Steam’s FTK promotion on that date. Joining these games for Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion in August is Moonlighter.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Games List for July 2026

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a choice-driven narrative RPG where players shape an entire lifetime, beginning in childhood and continuing into adulthood under the rule of a rigid, class-based empire, making every decision truly matter in this Steam game. Every decision—from personal beliefs to political loyalties—helps define Sir Brante’s future, influencing his relationships, social standing, career opportunities, and ultimately the path his life takes.

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is a straightforward top-down zombie survival shooter where the goal is simple: survive as long as possible against relentless waves of the undead. Players earn money between rounds to buy stronger weapons, build defensive barriers, and fortify their position, creating an arcade-style gameplay loop that shines as a co-op game on Steam (& it really is that simple).

The free giveaway isn’t the game itself, but rather the Lost Explorers’ Swords Pack for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. Launching on July 15, the upcoming Steam game is a first-person co-op horror adventure inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, tasking players with venturing into a cursed jungle in search of treasure while battling psychological horrors and relying on teamwork to survive.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Games List for August 2026

The first confirmed Steam free-to-keep game for August 2026, Moonlighter blends roguelike dungeon crawling with shopkeeping, letting players switch between dangerous nighttime expeditions and managing a thriving business during the day. In the shoes of Will, players explore monster-filled dungeons for valuable loot before selling their discoveries, upgrading equipment, expanding the village, and repeating a satisfying gameplay loop that feels like a classic Legend of Zelda, but with roguelike progression.
