Supergirl Only Has Three Days To Save Her Dog’s Life In Newly Released Trailer

The new trailer for Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming Supergirl movie gives us our first extended look at Jason Momoa’s Lobo in action and also reveals that the movie’s plot is all about Kara/Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock, trying to save Kyrpto, her super-powered dog, from dying after he’s poisoned by nasty villains.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be super invested in yet another comic book superhero movie. But damn it, DC and WB have figured out a surefire way to get me and most of the internet to care about yet another superhero flick: Give the main hero the goal of saving her pup. Yeah, okay, I’m on board for watching Kara kick ass and take names to save Krypto and get the cure he needs before he dies in three days. Here’s the new trailer:

Both Kara and Krypto were first seen in last year’s excellent Superman movie from director and DC films boss James Gunn. Kyrpto was an instant hit with basically everyone, and now DC is threatening to kill the pup in this new trailer. I’d be shocked if the pup didn’t make it out alive at the end of this, but I’m still going to get teary-eyed watching Kara struggle with her dying pup when Supergirl lands in theaters on June 26.
