Horror game The Sinking City is currently available for about $5 on the Nintendo Switch eShop, thus offering nearly $60 worth of savings. The offer is part of a larger publisher sale that also includes deep discounts on several other Switch titles.

Developed by Ukrainian studio Frogwares, The Sinking City is an action horror game with strong Lovecraftian influences. Set in the 1920s, it casts players as a private detective trying to get to the bottom of a mysterious curse that has engulfed Oakmont, a fictional fishing town in Eastern Massachusetts. The Sinking City was met with mixed reviews following its 2019 release, largely on account of its slow-paced combat and technical issues, some of which were addressed via post-launch updates. Nonetheless, the game was widely praised for its open-world design, immersive mission structure with minimal hand-holding, and rich worldbuilding drawing from H.P. Lovecraft’s extensive body of work.

8 Best Lovecraftian Games On The Nintendo Switch

Fans of Lovecraftian horror and surreal vibes have a few solid options on the Nintendo Switch. Here are the best games to dive into cosmic horror.

The Sinking City: Deluxe Edition Hits Lowest-Ever Price on Nintendo Switch eShop

As of early May 2026, the Nintendo Switch version of The Sinking City: Deluxe Edition is available at a 92% discount. The offer brings the open-world horror game down to $5.19, representing $59.80 in savings and marking its lowest-ever price on Nintendo consoles. Switch owners have until May 25 at 2:59 a.m. ET to take advantage of the price cut. The discount is part of a broader Frogwares sale featuring nine eShop offers across games, bundles, and DLC.

All Nintendo Switch Deals from Frogwares’ eShop Sale

While the sale technically only includes the Deluxe Edition of The Sinking City with all of its DLC, it is possible to get the base game at a discount by purchasing the so-called Lovecraftian Bundle, which combines it with Frogwares’ unnerving adventure game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. The bundle is currently available for $7.49, 90% off its regular price. However, because the Deluxe Edition cannot be added to the base game and the individual DLCs are not currently discounted, players seeking a content-complete experience are better off buying the two games separately.

Despite not launching to universal acclaim, The Sinking City is now worth revisiting as a distinctive Lovecraftian detective game whose atmosphere, open-ended investigations, and eerie city design still give it a clear identity. That’s without even accounting for its deep price cut, which makes it a tempting proposition for any fan of atmospheric horror games.

Although Frogwares remastered The Sinking City in 2025, that enhanced version of the game is not available on the Nintendo Switch. The Unreal Engine 5-powered remaster could theoretically run on the Switch 2, but there is currently no indication that a version for Nintendo’s latest console is in development. As for the ongoing eShop discount on The Sinking City, it is available until May 25, while most of the other price cuts in Frogwares’ current sale are shorter-lived, expiring on either May 11 or May 18, depending on the product.
