Tales Of Arise: Beyond The Dawn Switch 2 Preorders Are Live

After first launching on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S back in 2021, Tales of Arise is now getting a Switch 2 release on May 22 with the new Beyond the Dawn Edition. This $50 Switch 2-exclusive version is available to preorder at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. This new version is packed with bonus content, including the Beyond the Dawn story expansion, and the physical version of the action RPG also comes with unique reversible cover art. Here are the full details on the Switch 2 version of Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn and where to preorder.

Tales of Arise originally launched in 2021, and the sci-fi fantasy game follows the masked slave Alphen and the mysterious girl Shionne on their journey to end the Renans’ oppression of the Dahnan people that has lasted for over 300 years. Featuring fast-paced combat and a deep customization system, Tales of Arise earned generally positive reviews, with critics praising it for its storytelling and mature themes.

“If you’re looking for a lengthy, charming, and engaging JRPG to play on your shiny new console or PC gaming rig, Tales of Arise is certainly a fine choice. Just don’t go into it expecting an all-time classic,” Heidi Kemps wrote in GameSpot’s Tales of Arise review.

If you don’t want to wait for this new version, you can also grab the game on PS5, PS4, Xbox, and PC. While it doesn’t include the expansion, you can pick up Tales of Arise on PS5 for $38.40 (was $48.40), and it’s $18.77 for the PS4 edition. The PS4 version is the better deal here, as PS5 owners can get a free upgrade for it and use that extra cash to buy the expansion. Meanwhile, PC players can grab the game for just $9 (was $30) for a limited-time at Fanatical. This gets you an official key for the Steam version of the game.

If you’re a fan of Japanese RPGs, you’re in luck, as the genre is slated to get several big releases this year already. On February 27, Tales of Berseria Remastered drops for Switch and PS5. You can preorder it now for $40 for the physical version, or if you prefer digital, Fanatical has it available to preorder for $33.59 (was $40). More games in the genre like Trails in Beyond the Horizon and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Nintendo Switch 2 will launch later this year.
