A passionate Star Fox fan has recreated Fox McCloud’s iconic Arwing in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, earning the approval of fans online. Tears of the Kingdom players regularly showcase impressive builds, and this Arwing reveals what is possible in the game thanks to the Ultrahand ability and some glitches.
Right now is an exciting time for many Nintendo fans, as the Japanese game developer held an unexpected Star Fox Direct on May 6. The presentation centered on the announcement of a new remake of Star Fox 64. While some gamers were disappointed with another return to the classic N64 adventure, Nintendo is making some significant changes this time around. Notably, the graphics are receiving a massive upgrade on the more powerful Switch 2 hardware, along with fully voiced dialogue and support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. With the game launching on June 25, some fans are understandably excited about the imminent return of the IP.
Oscar Winning Actress Reveals She is a Massive Zelda Fan
There are tons of Legend of Zelda fans out there, and a surprising Oscar-winning actress reveals that she’s also a longtime fan.
Tears of the Kingdom Player Brings Fox McCloud’s Arwing to Hyrule
One of those gamers is susususu-storage on Reddit, who recently shared their Arwing recreation made in Tears of the Kingdom‘s open world. As seen in the video, the Reddit user did an incredible job building the iconic Star Fox fighter, remaining faithful to the shape of the original design. The build even came equipped with a laser, allowing Link to take down enemies while flying overhead. According to susususu-storage, no mods or hacks were used in creating the Arwing. However, several glitches allowed them to resize objects to fit the build.

Unsurprisingly, this Arwing recreated in Tears of the Kingdom has been a hit on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, gaining hundreds of upvotes and comments already. Interestingly, susususu-storage revealed that they had already planned to release the video of their Star Fox build before Nintendo announced its latest Direct, making for a convenient coincidence. When posting to Reddit, the creator revealed that Star Fox was one of their favorite games of all time. In the comments, many fans showed their approval of the design, and susususu-storage even provided the QR code for the build, giving others the chance to fly around Hyrule like Fox McCloud.
It is worth noting that Tears of the Kingdom is coming up on its third anniversary. While it might be hard to believe, the game was released on May 12, 2023, for the original Switch, later receiving a Switch 2 Edition. Despite being a single-player game, many fans continue to return, in large part thanks to the building mechanics. As this Arwing build from susususu-storage illustrates, the community has become more skilled, utilizing glitches and other techniques to build incredible machines. For example, another player recently created a locomotive inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, utilizing different objects in Tears of the Kingdom to finish the project.
