Pokemon Winds and Waves has finally revealed the first few pieces of information regarding Gen 10, and the confirmed Pokemon roster is already shaping up to be a strong lineup. Of course, the main Pokemon Winds and Waves features that many fans have on their minds are the three starter Pokemon. Choosing a starter Pokemon is never easy, and all three are shaping up to be just as adorable as they are fascinating.
The new starter Pokemon that players can expect in Winds and Waves are Grass-type Browt, Fire-type Pombon, and Water-type Gecqua. Inspired by a bird, a Pomeranian, and a gecko, Pokemon Winds and Waves is teasing some of the cutest starters yet. As exciting as these new starters are, their evolutions have yet to be revealed. Since the wait for Pokemon Winds and Waves is going to be a little bit longer than anticipated, it’s possible that Game Freak will reveal these evolutions later this year. In the meantime, though, fans have already made plenty of adorable concept art that imagine what the starters’ next two stages could be. All three starters have had fan art made of them, but Browt has inspired a lot of really unique designs.
Browt Introduces a New Generation of Grass-Type Starter in Pokemon Winds and Waves
All three Pokemon Winds and Waves starters are adorable, but Browt is definitely going to be the go-to choice for bird lovers. Two leaves sprout from its brow, giving the Pokemon an adorably grumpy look. Browt’s design looks like it is partly inspired by a chick and a sprouting pea, which probably is a pun revolving around chickpeas. Small, yellow-feathered, and fluffy, Browt has already won over a lot of players. Even if someone isn’t a Grass-type fan, it’s hard to ignore that Browt is incredibly cute. According to some fan art, though, this adorable little Grass-type chick could evolve into a truly fierce Pokemon.

From Adorable Chick to Wise Owl-Like Pokemon
This artwork by Reddit user yoyofro25 imagines what Browt’s final form will end up being. According to the artist, the main birds used for inspiration were owls and a Kakapo (sometimes called the owl-parrot). The owl-like qualities are incredibly clear, while the feather pattern heavily resembles a Kakapo’s plumage. Browt’s fan-made evolution also looks a lot like a more fierce version of Delibird. The new Pokemon in Winds and Waves have incredibly unique designs, and yoyofro25’s imagining of what Browt could grow into matches that uniqueness.
The Kakapo is the only flightless parrot in the world and is nocturnal.
Browt Becomes a Powerful Warrior
This one comes from Reddit user FallinDevast. It’s a huge departure from the previous fan design, which shows just how fun it can be to imagine a final Pokemon evolution before it has officially been revealed. This also shows a full line of evolutions. After evolving from Browt, FallinDevast imagines a spear-wielding bird named Spearunt and then a final form that takes its predecessor to wild new heights. The artist has named it Halbird, a play on the medieval polearm weapon known as a halberd. Not only is it a great play on words, but it’s an incredibly cool and outside-the-box design. It also has an unexpected source of inspiration. Halbird’s long feathers on its head and staff-like weapon of choice is actually inspired by one of the artist’s favorite characters: Lu Bu from Dynasty Warriors. Pokemon and Dynasty Warriors is an unexpected match-up, but it clearly works.
A Version of Browt That Takes Inspiration From a Mythical Beast
Reddit user Alchemybats used a cockatrice as the main source of inspiration behind this evolution line. For those who aren’t familiar with a cockatrice, it’s a mythical creature that has the body of a serpent or dragon and the head of a rooster. Therefore, the final formation of this fan-made Browt evolution is aptly named Brawkatrice. Alchemybats said about the artwork, “Despite having wings, it doesn’t fly. It uses its clawed wings to climb trees and hide among foliage.” That’s a really fun way to play into Browt’s Grass-type label and feels like a fairly likely possibility. It’s going to be interesting to see if any of these designs turn out to accidentally be Pokemon Winds and Waves spoilers.
Browt Sprouts Into a Fearsome Fighter
This fan art from OzoneFruit also imagines Browt’s two other evolution stages. The first one is called Kakapow, which is another Kakapo-inspired design. After Kakapow, the tiny bird-like Pokemon turns into the wonderfully pun-heavy and intimidating Cashewary. In this final form, Browt’s adorable little leaf brows have now sprouted into a large cashew atop the creature’s head, and its legs have become massive, clawed slicing machines that look like they could do some serious damage. This form is inspired directly by the Cassowary bird, which is known for its head crest and three-toed feet that brandish super sharp claws. Browt’s evolution could go a variety of different ways, and so much great fan art may have presented a problem for Game Freak.
Browt’s Official Evolution Now Has Big Expectations to Meet
It’s truly impressive just how quickly fans have been able to conjure up potential Browt evolutions. The Pokemon Winds and Waves announcement was only a few days ago, and fans have already imagined plenty of designs that look like they would fit right in with an actual Pokemon game. All this fan art on the internet is setting certain expectations, and it’s going to be fascinating to see how the official Browt evolution design is going to stack up against the fan-made versions.
Right now, all Pokemon fans can do is wait for Nintendo and Game Freak to reveal more information. Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ release date being in 2027 surprised a lot of players, but that hopefully means the game is getting the time it needs to ensure a great launch. As the year continues, there will likely be more news shared about what to expect from the Pokemon roster and further evolution lines. Until then, fans are churning out tons of great fan art that can help keep Pokemon lovers occupied.
