We are nearly halfway into 2026, and the gaming world has already been treated to so many amazing games, from Crimson Desert to Resident Evil 9. This greatness hasn’t even been limited to one platform, as virtually any console or PC player can experience the best the industry has to offer, but recently, it feels as though the PS5 has had its foot on the gas with no signs of slowing down any time soon.
2026 Video Game Release Date Calendar
From remakes to new titles, 2026 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year in gaming.
Now that June is just around the corner, it is clear that PlayStation is more than happy to keep the ball rolling, continuing to push out games across a range of different genres to cement its place as one of the best places to play today. Whether you’re into platformers, horror games, shooters, or RPGs, I guarantee that the next month or so will satisfy even the pickiest of gamers.
We left out EA Sports UFC 6 and Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, just to focus on (mostly) new names rather than well-established series.

BrokenLore: FOLLOW
The Horrors Continue
Details:
- Price: Not yet confirmed ($19.99 predicted)
- Story of self-acceptance explored through a darker perspective
- Release Date: June 1, 2026
BrokenLore: FOLLOW is yet another game in one of horror’s newest and most impressive franchises, and in my opinion, it could be the best so far. Centering on a woman named Anne, you get to experience all kinds of pain, from memories to emotions, all through a more twisted and distorted lens that relies heavily on symbolism, whilst still having enough room for some pretty disturbing creatures.
After playing UNFOLLOW and DON’T WATCH, I was thoroughly impressed by how well-made and how interesting the concepts explored were, so when I heard another game was on the way, I knew it was time to get back into the spooky mood. Part of what makes the game so appealing is the fact that it comes from an indie studio. Serafini Productions is a horror dev through and through, and with several more projects in the series on the way, now is the perfect time to jump in and experience some of the best that the genre has to offer.
Gothic 1 Remake
Returning To An RPG Classic
Details:
- Price: $59.99
- Preserves the gameplay of the original
- Release Date: June 5, 2026
Gothic 1 Remake represents a full overhaul of the cult-classic RPG that heavily influenced later design principles seen in franchises like The Witcher. The remake retains the original’s faction-based progression, reactive world systems, and survival-focused exploration, whilst updating other aspects to bring it more in line with modern-day expectations, most notably the graphics.

5 Upcoming Open-World Games That Sound Too Good To Be True
Meet some of the most ambitious and promising open-world games coming out in the next few years that could become new standards for the genre.
It wasn’t until the late 2010s that I actually went back and played the original, and while it does have some roughness around the edges, it for sure stands out as one of the best RPGs of the era. Comparing it to the first game and the rest of the RPG landscape, I would say that if you are a fan of the genre and hungry for a genuinely innovative and compelling experience, you won’t find a better one any time soon.
Denshattack!
Platforming Of A Very Different Kind
Details:
- Price: Not yet confirmed ($29.99 predicted)
- Colorful platformer with plenty of skill expression
- Gothic 1 Remake
- Release Date: June 17, 2026
Denshattack! couldn’t be anything further from a traditional platformer, and that is exactly why I am so excited about it. First off, from a style perspective, the visuals draw inspiration from anime, infusing every moment with vibrancy and color to ensure there is never a dull moment in the middle of the action.
Then there’s the actual gameplay, which sees players jumping, grinding, sliding, and flying around in a physics-defying train, with all the power to pull off tricks and bump up those style points. The original trailer had me hooked straight away, and since then, my interest has only gotten bigger, as not only does it look like a well-polished and engaging platformer, but a genuinely unique one, something that is harder and harder to come by nowadays.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam
Be A Part Of History
Details:
- Price: $39.99
- Large-scale, realistic battles
- Release Date: June 18, 2026
The world of FPS games has seen many great titles come and go, but one that has continued to go strong after many years is Hell Let Loose. Focusing more on realism and intense gunplay, the game reintroduced players to a more grounded approach to shooter gameplay, and with the release of Vietnam around the corner, it looks like that concept is only going to get better and better.
I loved the first game, and I found that despite the large-scale nature of the matches, there were always chances for individual players to shine and show off just how well they knew the maps and the game. And now that we are going to get to experience a completely different setting, I am hopeful that the game will really hit its stride and become one of the bigger names going forward.
NBA THE RUN
Taking The Tricks To The Streets
Details:
- Price: Not yet confirmed ($40 predicted)
- Arcade-style 3v3 basketball matches
- Release Date: June 9, 2026
Basketball and gaming have been woven together for many years by one single name: the NBA. If the game doesn’t have the biggest league attached to it, then success is pretty hard to come by, so when The Run: Got Next was acquired and transformed into NBA THE RUN, suddenly the potential went through the roof.

Upcoming Role-Playing Games People Are Excited For
While plenty of RPGs have been announced for 2026 and beyond, these upcoming role-playing games are especially exciting.
Rather than competing with the mainline 2K games, THE RUN looks to bring back an older style of competition, where the stakes are on the streets, and the momentum is twice as fast. I have always been a big fan of sports games that actually incorporate a lot of skill, and it seems from the descriptions about the tech and the gameplay that personal expression is taking the spotlight, and that only the very best will come out on top.
The 7th Guest Remake
Watching A Mystery Unfold
Details:
- Price: $19.99
- Revival of a classic puzzle adventure
- Release Date: June 4, 2026
The 7th Guest has returned with a modern remake that will both retain the original’s puzzle-focused horror design and rebuild the entire experience from the ground up. A murder mystery at its core, I always loved how well-designed the puzzles were and how well they fed into the next section, and now that the whole game is being modernized, I am glad that way more people are going to get to play through it firsthand.
The puzzle market has exploded in recent times, notably in the co-op department, but there is a lot of room left in the solo space for a new game like this to really make a splash. Being tested mentally is one of the main reasons I enjoy gaming, so if you are the same, I would highly recommend exploring the haunted mansion for yourself in just a few weeks.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
A New HD-2D Adventure
- Price: $59.99
- Another Square Enix & Claytechworks HD-2D RPG
- Release Date: June 18, 2026
We probably won’t receive another Octopath Traveler for a while, but games like The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales should fill the void in the meantime. Square Enix and Claytechworks return for a new HD-2D adventure, albeit this time an action RPG rather than turn-based. Despite that change, this June 2026 game still feels like a throwback to the SNES era, which produced plenty of fantastic real-time entries in the genre, besides Chrono Trigger. Not only will The Adventures of Elliot not be turn-based, but it won’t feature multiple player characters either, with Elliot being the stand-alone protagonist.
However, the game supports co-op, with the second player taking charge of Elliot’s fairy companion, Faie.
Over the last decade, this art style has grown relatively common and nowadays lacks the “WOW” factor of the earlier efforts; however, Square Enix seems to always hit with these RPGs, and The Adventures of Elliot seems primed and ready to be among the freshest entries in the genre. I cannot wait, personally.

Say Hello To The Next 5 Big Single-Player Games
Forget multiplayer, single-player games are where it is at. 2026 has already produced a couple of big names, but the year is still very young.
