The Elder Scrolls: Fur and Fang is launching in November 2026, giving fans something special to look forward to later this year. Any new Elder Scrolls release is sure to draw attention, and Fur and Fang puts the focus on some of the series’ darker themes.
The last mainline release in the Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim, launched back in November 2011. That’s almost 15 years without a brand-new game. Bethesda has re-released Skyrim on various consoles, even despite announcing The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018. And while fans did have Oblivion Remastered last year and Elder Scrolls Online in 2014, neither is the same as getting a brand-new single-player experience. Still, there are projects in other mediums that keep Elder Scrolls fans interested.
Fur and Fang is a brand-new expansion coming to the Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era board game. Chip Theory Games’ title was finally sent out to early backers in 2025, who have since funded even more expansions. One of these expansions is Fur and Fang, which is set to launch in November 2026. The creator says the upcoming release of several expansions is the “biggest fulfillment of any project in our history,” as it sends copies to both backers and retailers, so hopefully Fur and Fang is able to meet its expected release window.
Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
Elder Scrolls: Fur and Fang is centered on some of the darker elements of the Elder Scrolls series: werewolves and vampires. Both arrive as brand-new Afflicted skill lines in the game. While the werewolves are shown as more of a damage output skill line, vampires play a more supportive role thanks to their special vampiric abilities. It also adds side quests and encounters, giving players plenty of new content for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era. The description for both skill lines is as follows:
Using an Afflicted skill line, werewolves produce a heavy damage output in multiple battle forms, but they must transform in order to do so. When they transform, they’re unable to use other skill lines. Naturally, they will also induce lots of fatigue with such exertions.
Vampires, also an Afflicted skill line, do not rely as much on straightforward damage but have numerous vampiric abilities. Mist Form, Hypnosis, and other skills take advantage of playing a supporting role and establish vampires as creatures of the night!
Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era – Fur and Fang Key Features
- Werewolves and vampires-focused expansion
- 16 new skill dice
- Four Overland Encounter cards
- Two Side Quest cards
Elder Scrolls: Fur and Fang is available for $20 on Gamefound, with a few other expansions also planned to launch in November. This notably includes The Elder Scrolls: Shadow of Oblivion, which focuses on the Daedric Princes. Purchasing the base Betrayal of the Second Era costs $225, and with all this new content on the way, it could be a great time to jump in.
Despite being announced all the way back in 2018, gamers still have no official gameplay footage of The Elder Scrolls 6. The long-awaited project has been shrouded in secrecy, and only recently have Xbox and Bethesda started discussing it publicly again. With Starfield now over three years old at this point, hopefully it won’t be long before Bethesda is ready to reveal more about the next Elder Scrolls game.
