‘Tons of World Premieres’ Next Xbox Showcase Officially Confirmed

Adrian has been writing, critiquing, and thinking about games since he first picked up an N64 controller many years ago. These days he writes reviews, news, and features for Game Rant and believes games should be held to the same artistic standards as books, movies, and television shows. When he’s not writing for Game Rant, Adrian writes even more reviews for Sirus Gaming and likes to get nerdy about tech and retro games at HackerNoon. Outside the gaming world, he spends plenty of time enjoying movies or listening to every genre of music under the sun. Follow him on Twitter for nonsense tweets likely related to Dragon Ball Z, or check out Breadhouse Records for some tunes.

Another Xbox games showcase has been confirmed for October 20, promising new gameplay, exclusive reveals, and “tons of world premieres” across 18 upcoming titles. Microsoft’s next Xbox presentation seems set to be a packed showcase, with most of its lineup still under wraps as the company prepares for some major games coming in 2027.

Xbox’s Next Console Is Basically Becoming a PC, but Its Hardest Problem Isn’t Hardware

The Xbox Helix has already been teased as a PC/console hybrid, but as cool as the hardware sounds, it won’t be enough to push sales.

Microsoft, in collaboration with IGN, announced that the next ID@Xbox Showcase airs Tuesday, October 20 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET and will feature 18 games, including trailers, gameplay, first looks, exclusive reveals, and what IGN calls “tons of world premieres.” The event will likely spotlight mostly upcoming indie games, as is usual for ID@Xbox Showcases, but it seems to be packing the list quite heavily. Most of the lineup is still being kept secret, although The Wolf Among Us Remastered is confirmed to appear just ahead of its October 29 launch, while Critical Reflex Games will reportedly be present with a few new indies as well. With only a small part of the 18-game lineup confirmed beforehand, much of the appeal will be finding out exactly what Xbox has in store with its “tons” of upcoming reveals.
