Top 4 Brand-New FPS Games Confirmed To Be Releasing Very Soon

Who doesn’t love a good first-person shooter? While the likes of Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield dominate the minds of publishers, the best FPS games of 2026 do not belong to those juggernaut IPs, and a few of the year’s most exciting shooters are on the brink of debuting on Steam and even consoles.

If you are like me and feel completely burned out on the usual FPS franchises, then you need to start looking elsewhere. The last few years have been very good for the genre, as long as you don’t stick to the name AAA brands and cast a slightly wider net. Let’s take a look at a few brand-new FPS games that will be in your library within the next few weeks.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die Comes To Steam On August 11

Think GoldenEye 007, But Actually Fun In 2026

  • Platform/s: Only PC
  • Modes: Solo Campaign, Co-op, Local Split-Screen, & Online PvP (up to 8 players)
  • Is A Demo Available? Yes!
  • Agent 64’s Steam Store Page

If you spent the late ’90s circling around CRT TVs playing GoldenEye 007 or Perfect Dark, Agent 64: Spies Never Die is engineered specifically for you. As influential and beloved as Rare’s classics are, they have not particularly aged well and can be painfully difficult to enjoy nowadays; therefore, Agent 64 lets you tap into that nostalgia by being a game that matches your memories of GoldenEye 007 rather than reality.

You play as former top agent John Walter, pulled back into action to infiltrate secret facilities, hack terminals, steal blueprints, and neutralize syndicate commanders across global missions. Simple spy stuff, but you don’t need anything more from this type of game and campaign, and the throwback story adds to the charm.

Agent 64 goes out of its way to truly recapture that Nintendo 64 experience, beyond just a retro aesthetic. You have flat-textured character faces, retro weapon animations, and even a CRT visual filter… You might opt to turn off the latter after a while, but the fact that it exists is great.

Best FPS Game From Every Year In The 2000s And Their 2026 Spiritual Successors

The 2000s are considered by many to be the peak era of the FPS, with these classic games representing the best of each year in the decade.

Twisted Tower Scratches That BioShock Itch On August 18

You Get To Shoot Creepy Mascots

Judas Director Wants Fans To Check Out This Other BioShock-Inspired Action Game

Finally, we will get to experience the ungodly combination of “Willy Wonka meets BioShock,” a horror FPS game destined to be among the most visually striking of 2026. Atmos Games’ narrative-driven shooter traps players inside a towering 1920s toy and candy skyscraper run by an eccentric, sinister tycoon; naturally, you aren’t alone, and everything seems to want to kill you.

Going by the marketing and trailers, Twisted Tower takes notes from immersive sims of yesteryear, presenting an environment defined by vertical exploration, environmental storytelling, and upgradable weapons. As the latter are also creatively themed around the premise, prepare yourself to fight off horrifying animatronics with a whack-a-mole mallet and a slingshot. Your decisions matter, too, and Twisted Tower seems designed for multiple playthroughs.

I haven’t been able to take Twisted Tower out for a test run yet, but I love everything I’ve seen from this game. We need more surreal horror shooters.

Clawed Takes You To Jurassic Park On August 13

Is There A Gun Big Enough To Take Down A T-Rex?

We don’t get enough dinosaur games, and that’s not because there is no such thing as “too many dinosaur games.” Ark is cool and all, but we deserve other dino adventures that provide something wildly different. Clawed could be the Jurassic Park game that everyone wants, at least based on the concept’s potential and the demo. Basically, you need to survive Prehistoria, an abandoned theme park/zoo with all sorts of prehistoric monsters.

Just to set the correct expectations, Clawed leans heavily into survival mechanics: ammo is scarce, noise management is vital, and encounters with Utahraptors or Spinosauruses quickly turn from firefights into desperate scrambles for cover. If you are looking for a gun-blazing blockbuster, this game might not be it. However, if you want an atmospheric survival horror shooter, Clawed fits the bill better than nearly anything else.

These fantastic old-school first-person shooters are readily available on Steam and GOG, but they might not always be around.

Gallipoli Storms The Beaches On August 20

A Big Month For PvP Historical FPS Games

Reloading in Gallipoli

Blackmill specializes in multiplayer WWI shooters, with Tannenberg, Isonzo, and Verdun amassing dedicated communities. Gallipoli should continue that trend, albeit with a shift to the Ottoman Fronts, pitting British Empire and Ottoman forces against each other across beach landings, sun-scorched deserts, and narrow Ottoman strongholds.

The game will prioritize authenticity through its weapons and equipment, along with recreating famous historical battles through objective-based matches. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is August’s big PvP historical FPS game, and it comes out just a week before Gallipoli. While this could prove to be a curse for the latter, Blackmill might also be able to step up if Vietnam goes through a rough launch.

Whatever happens, hopefully both games find an audience that keeps them alive.
