Townfall Update Will Fix Its Most Annoying Enemy

Developer Screen Burn has confirmed that one of the most annoying enemies in Silent Hill: Townfall, The Weight, is getting a balance fix. It has only been a few days since Silent Hill: Townfall launched on PC and PlayStation 5, but fans are already sharing their concerns about its performance and gameplay.

The latest entry in the popular horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall, introduced players to a brand-new story and protagonist. In this new adventure, set in 1996, main character Simon Ordell wakes up in the fictional Scottish fishing town of St. Amelia, where he has to survive terrifying monstrous threats. Konami has shared its high expectations for Silent Hill: Townfall, predicting that it will achieve praise similar to its predecessors. However, shortly after its release, the developers saw the need for some urgent fixes to a particular enemy.

Silent Hill Townfall: New Game Plus, Explained

New Game Plus changes some things in Silent Hill Townfall, so here’s what you need to be made aware of before starting the journey (again).

Silent Hill: Townfall’s The Weight Is Getting Patched

In a recent social media post, Screen Burn addressed complaints about The Weight, one of Silent Hill: Townfall‘s strongest enemies, and has assured players that a fix is in the works. “We’ve heard you on struggles with The Weight,” reads the statement, before the developer promised an adjustment would be coming ASAP. The Weight is an enemy that often chases protagonist Simon Ordell around St. Amelia and is capable of instantly killing him. Players who have already begun their Silent Hill: Townfall run may have noticed that The Weight is virtually unkillable, giving fans no choice but to hide from the creature, which can be frustrating for players. Screen Burn has not given a window for The Weight’s fixes, but hopefully for players, the patch will come sooner rather than later.

Aside from The Weight’s upcoming fix, the game has also confirmed the launch of Patch 1.3.3 for September 30. The update fixes gameplay stuttering bugs due to PSO compilation issues. Under Screen Burn’s post, some players shared their dissatisfaction with the game’s performance on PC, saying it continuously crashes. The developer responded that these issues are related to certain AMD GPUs and has pledged to work with AMD for a solution. In the meantime, Screen Burn suggested that players switch off ray tracing and wait for more improvements in the future. It remains to be seen how the game will address player feedback, but Silent Hill: Townfall reviews suggest that it’s generally deserving of praise.

Silent Hill has had some incredibly hard enemies over the years, and now The Weight is giving previous bosses a run for their money. The tough enemy is causing controversy among players, though, since being spotted by it guarantees death. Moreover, using an IV Bag may help fans revive Simon instead of going back to their latest save. However, fans are reporting that The Weight may stay in the exact spot where players were defeated, and the monster kills them again. This causes fans to feel frustrated after losing precious resources.
