Call of Duty: Warzone has revealed a new update for Season 02 Reloaded, with Raven Software outlining a small set of changes aimed at Black Ops Royale and a handful of gameplay bugs. For Warzone, the latest patch is notable less for sweeping balance changes than for how it continues refining Black Ops Royale just days after the mode’s debut.
Season 02 Reloaded went live in Warzone on March 11, while Black Ops Royale launched on March 12 at 9 p.m. PT / March 13 at 12 a.m. ET. The mid-season mode addition is rooted in Black Ops 7 systems and aesthetics, accompanied by broader changes to standard Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Ranked Play.

Warzone’s March 13 Update Adds a Win Streak Tracker
Shortly after its latest seasonal content drop, Raven rolled out another Call of Duty: Warzone patch on March 13. As is commonly the case with such follow-up updates, the new release is much narrower in scope and primarily geared toward ironing out technical issues that were introduced or exacerbated by the prior update. The patch thus includes just one quality-of-life addition, arriving in the form of a Win Streak progress tracker that is now available in Black Ops Royale.

The March 13 patch also resolves four issues tied to spectating, revives, vehicles, and armor behavior. According to the official patch notes, the fixes address a blinking red health indicator while spectating a teammate who had used a Trauma Kit, missing HUD elements after a wingsuit revive, rear-seat ejections tied to the Polaris “Climb to Roof” function, and Reactive Armor failing to regenerate armor after a revive.
With Warzone‘s Black Ops Royale mode being the highlight of the new Call of Duty season, Raven’s developers will likely be focused on refining its overall experience for a while yet. Black Ops Royale differs from the game’s classic playlist by shifting much more of the match’s progression into the round itself. Instead of centering early decision-making around cash flow, loadout timing, and Buy Station access, the mode emphasizes looting, weapon rarity upgrades, consumable perks, and movement tools such as wall jumps and wingsuits.
That broader structure also changes how Warzone handles survivability and recovery. Players begin Black Ops Royale with 150 base health and 150 armor, while systems such as Trauma Kits, Armor Vests, Redeploy Tokens, and Redeploy Towers are meant to extend engagements and give squads more ways to stay in contention. The result is a playlist that puts less weight on the usual economy loop and more on how teams gradually build momentum through exploration and activity completion. Objectives now play a larger role in that process. Activities such as Surveillance Drones, Strongbox Crack events, Relay Antennas, Supply Drops, and Cradle Breaches serve as major reward sources, while Cradle zones can offer higher-value loot and Exotic Weapons. Taken together, those mechanics make Black Ops Royale feel less like a straightforward variant of standard Warzone and more like a parallel ruleset designed around layered progression.
Outside Black Ops Royale, Season 02 Reloaded also introduced several progression hooks through limited-time content and playlist support. The Altitude Tactics event includes rewards such as the Voyak KT-3 Assault Rifle, while the Counter Skies Event Pass features the Swordfish A1 Marksman Rifle and Echo 12 Backlash Launcher Kit. Raven also refreshed the perk pool in Battle Royale and Resurgence, replacing Alertness with Momentum, Bomb Squad with Berserker, and Tracker with Hunter, alongside economy adjustments such as adding Advanced UAVs to Buy Stations for $40,000 and raising Specialist to $35,000.
