“We Want More For Them” ARC Raiders Dev Addresses Lack of Endgame Content

“We Want More For Them” ARC Raiders Dev Addresses Lack of Endgame Content

A common complaint from many die-hard ARC Raiders players is that there is very little content once you put enough hours into the game. This, of course, isn’t a problem for the casual ARC Raiders player who only puts a few hours in here and there, but those who have logged hundreds of hours in-game since its launch in October 2025 are beginning to grow tired. Embark has attempted to keep things fresh with a steady stream of new content updates, but the studio has now admitted it needs to do more for those in the endgame.

Despite launching smack bang in the middle of new Battlefield and Call of Duty titles, ARC Raiders managed to become one of the most unexpected success stories of 2025. Embark’s second-ever shooter picked up Best Multiplayer at the 2025 Game Awards, received rave reviews from both players and critics, and even became one of the most-played games on Steam, peaking at more than 481,000 concurrent players. Although ARC Raiders‘ daily player count has remained steady since launch, the last few weeks have seen a pretty significant drop-off, and it’s expected to be due to the lack of endgame content.

Embark Studios announces it has parted ways with co-founder and former CCO Robert Runesson after investigating claims of sexual misconduct.

ARC Raiders Devs Are Aware Players Want More Endgame Content

At the beginning of 2026, two months after its release, ARC Raiders still managed to average between 350,000 and 400,000 concurrent players every single day on Steam. However, the last few weeks have seen that figure drop to just 150,000. While still massively impressive, beating the likes of Marathon, Battlefield 6, and Black Ops 7, it’s a significant decline. There will be a multitude of reasons for this, but one of the most prominent will be the lack of endgame content, something fans have been complaining about for months now.

Embark has outlined its plans for the future of ARC Raiders multiple times, but not once has the studio discussed any form of endgame content…until now. In a new interview with GamesRadar+, production director Caio Braga discussed the current issues with ARC Raiders, noting how something the team attempts to keep on top of is balancing. Braga then talks about the game’s difficulty, saying, “It is one of the things we want to keep working on. We want to challenge the players. Especially the players that are reaching the end of our content.” He goes on to state that Embark wants “more” for those players. “I want them to have more to do, and because they are at the end of it, it’s also important that we challenge them more and more. It is something we want to continue doing, but always giving players tools as well so that other players can partake of the fun,” the dev said.

It’s unclear how Embark plans to squeeze the addition of endgame content into its current plans, or if this is something the team has already been working on. But with the current 2026 roadmap for ARC Raiders only spanning to April, the studio is likely gearing up to reveal a second roadmap for the remainder of the year. Many fans have thrown around the idea of a Destiny 2-esque Raid system for ARC Raiders, which would be the most challenging and rewarding aspect of the game, with puzzles, boss fights, and plenty of teamwork.

Unfortunately, if Embark doesn’t already have such a feature in the works, it could be quite some time before players get to experience any sort of endgame content. The good news, however, is that the studio has been releasing major content updates every single month, and the next patch is just a few days away.

ARC Raiders‘ big Flashpoint update is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 31, bringing a new map condition, ARC threat, player project, and more to the game. Embark also recently teased fans with a short trailer, all but confirming that the deadliest ARC in the game, the Shredder, will be leaving the confines of Stella Montis. The enemy was added to the game shortly after launch, but has only been available on one map. Now it seems as though the game’s Flashpoint update will be adding the Shredder to Blue Gate, making PvE encounters on the map even more challenging.
