Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is all about espionage and massive political conspiracies, but you’ll also need some quite rudimentary tools for the job. Knowing where to find the lockpick, chain-cutters, and prybar will open many doors, figuratively and metaphorically.
As you begin exploring the city of Portofiro, you’ll immediately notice all sorts of doors, boxes, and items scattered around that will require a specific tool. The earlier you can get all three tools, the better. Once you’ve offered to fix the printer, the Foto 24 receptionist will grant you a scredriver as well as the operant toolkit. From then on, if you’re wondering where to find the lockpick, the prybar, and the chain-cutters in Zero Parades, we’ve got you covered.
Where to Find the Lockpick
Let’s start with the easiest one. In order to get the lockpick, you have to speak to Goat Eyes in the Quisach Roundabout. He’s located all the way east. After a brief conversation–be kind to him, he’s cool–he’ll let you see what he has on sale. Amid some extremely particular items, he will offer you a lockpick for 30 sol.
Depending on when you meet Goat Eyes, the amount might sound steep. If you want to earn some cash fast, head over to the bar and offer to help Lucy with tables. You’ll likely increase your anxiety by doing so, and four hours will pass, but you’ll get 20 sol for your trouble.
Once you have the lockpick, there are quite a few notable places to visit first. Right next to Goat Eyes there is a truck hiding the Ushanka Hat, which grants +1 instincts and -1 sensors. Most notably, you’ll be able to open The Animal Zone in the docks area. This also requires technoflex. I recommend doing so at night, so you’ll gain an extra modifier.
Where to Find the Chain-Cutters
If you don’t have a keen eye for exploration, you may miss the chain-cutters entirely. This tool can be found at the top of a comically long tower.

The exact location is south of the bazaar, in the old docks. There’s a large pylon there that you can access through a ladder that evokes that one scene from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Once you get to the top, examine the box at the right side, and you’ll get the chain-cutters.
You can also speak to The Phantom Line Engineer if you want, and there’s also a related quest with him at one point. But you can also just grab the item and leave. You’ll find multiple boxes across Portofiro that will ask you to use this tool. In addition, there’s an important shortcut from the docks to the bazaar that you can open with them.
Where to Find the Prybar
The prybar is one of the most useful tools in Zero Parades, and there’s a peculiar character who has it in his possession. If you’re yet to meet Dr. Gonza, now is the time.

Located in Party Alley, Dr. Gonza is, well, a standout character to say the least. Upon first interaction, he’s likely to ask you to prove that someone standing outside his clinic isn’t spying on him. For this, he’ll give you a prybar to get a tooth from him.
What you choose to do with the task at hand is up to you, but don’t fret–Dr. Gonza won’t ask for the tool back. You can now go ahead and use it in multiple spots around the city, from boxes to an AC that is holding loot, stashed east of the bar after going up a ladder.
That’s all you need to know to have all three additional tools in Zero Parades. Remember that you’ll need to have them equipped to use them, and doing so will also grant +1 to blueprints.
