Where Winds Meet Is Adding a Familiar Vehicle Building Mechanic

Where Winds Meet Is Adding a Familiar Vehicle Building Mechanic

Where Winds Meet is rolling out a vehicle-crafting mechanic that looks a lot like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s Ultrahand ability. The RPG has exploded in popularity since its global release, thanks largely to a mountain of in-game content, while being free to play. Now, Where Winds Meet is giving players even more to experiment with by taking inspiration from another wildly successful open-world game.

If player counts are anything to go by, people were already happy with what the game had to offer at launch. In just 24 hours, Where Winds Meet broke the 2 million-player mark and became one of the top five most-played games on Steam. Developer Everstone Studios is riding that momentum by continuing to release new updates and patches, and fans have a big one to look forward to.

Where Winds Meet Has a Skin That Costs How Much?!

Where Winds Meet players discover one of the free-to-play game’s rarest skins can cost a jaw-dropping amount of money if users aren’t lucky.

Where Winds Meet’s New Vehicle-Building Mechanic Is Now Live in China

On November 28, Everstone introduced a mechanic called “Ink Structure” to Where Winds Meet‘s Chinese servers, letting players piece components together to create their own vehicles. Gameplay footage shared on Twitter shows it being used to craft helicopters, carts, scooters, and more, and users will almost certainly push it to more extreme heights, as they have with the very similar Ultrahand ability in Tears of the Kingdom. Zelda fans have used Tears of the Kingdom‘s building mechanics to recreate Star Wars vehicles, make fighting robots, and more, and given how similarly open Ink Structure seems, it’s only a matter of time before Where Winds Meet‘s take on the system showcases the same creativity.

Where Winds Meet How to Unlock All Weapon Martial Arts

Ink Structure is currently only available for players in China, but as with the game’s other systems, it will roll out to a global audience in the future, though Everstone has not specified when this will happen. What is clear, though, is that the mechanic will have a massive impact on gameplay. In addition to giving players more ways to traverse the world and take on tough enemies, Ink Structure also introduces new collectibles, as there will be components scattered across the map, some with special abilities. While some Where Winds Meet activities are only available in Solo Mode, Ink Structure comes with multiplayer aspects, too, as users can share blueprints for the vehicles they create.

How To Increase Elegance Attribute in Where Winds Meet

Beyond Ink Structure, Where Winds Meet devs have teased several improvements coming to the game in future updates. These include a fix for Solo Mode latency issues scheduled to arrive in mid-December, Steam Deck compatibility, improved visual performance on PS5, and translation optimizations.
