World of Warcraft Fixing Haranir Allied Race Issues Soon

World of Warcraft is working on fixes for clipping and texture issues with the Haranir. Players are dissatisfied with numerous visual glitches the new allied race from World of Warcraft: Midnight has, leading Blizzard to prioritize these solutions for these problems.

The Midnight expansion is finally live in World of Warcraft, bringing with it four new zones, an increased level cap of 90, and tons of instances and activities to enjoy. However, one of the most exciting aspects of the expansion is the Haranir, a new neutral allied race. These wild naturalists share a connection to both Trolls and Night Elves, and have a robust range of customization options that put most other playable races in World of Warcraft to shame.

Blizzard Working on Haranir Model Issues in WoW: Midnight

As of World of Warcraft: Midnight’s release on March 2, the Haranir allied race unlock is officially available. However, as fans began setting up Transmogs for their new Haranir characters, they noticed some big problems. Many cosmetic items experience immersion-breaking clipping or texture issues on Haranir, especially for the feminine Body Type 2 model. Reports and screenshots from Reddit users like KnightmareMaiden and Sad_Trip6658 show prominent examples of these issues, which range from clothes clipping through models to undergarments being visible through Transmog outfits.

The Haranir allied race is unlocked by completing the Harandar campaign in Midnight; no additional side quests are required to unlock it.

Luckily, World of Warcraft has noticed the fan outcry and has committed to fixing these issues soon. In posts on both Twitter and the official WoW forums, Blizzard confirmed it is aware of these visual glitches and was planning to fix them at a later date. However, the community’s negative response highlighted the issue, prompting Blizzard to treat it more urgently. Players can expect these issues to be resolved via a hotfix within the next week or so.

This problem likely stems from how the Haranir models in World of Warcraft were created. Though they have some unique animations, the base model is shared with Night Elves. However, the Haranir are bulkier than their Kaldorei counterparts, especially the Body Type 2 model. These clipping issues probably arose because certain Transmog items didn’t map correctly to the Haranir’s thicker body proportions.

While the Haranir are a pronounced example, other races have historically experienced clipping and texture-mapping issues as well. Certain Transmogs have glitched out on some models for a long time, with less humanoid races like Pandaren, Tauren, Worgen, and Vulpera being some of the worst offenders. For instance, the Vengeful Regalia of the Crusader, the free reward at World of Warcraft’s Trading Post in January 2026, was missing many of its 3D assets when worn by most races for around a month after it became available.

Quality Assurance at World of Warcraft Has Suffered Recently

Unfortunately, issues like these seem to be a result of decreased attention towards quality assurance in World of Warcraft. Layoffs at Blizzard over the last few years are believed to have affected the QA department, though the exact extent and ramifications remain uncertain.

What’s more, World of Warcraft’s faster release schedule seems to be doing the game no favors in that regard. Since the start of the Worldsoul Saga, World of Warcraft has moved from a two-year development cycle to an 18-month one, reducing development time by six months that could have been spent on polishing and bug-fixing. Midnight has been a huge hit among fans so far, and few will argue against getting more content faster, but some of the cracks caused by this expedited cadence are starting to show.
