A World of Warcraft: Legion Remix fan recently went from level 10 to 80 in less than seven minutes through the tactical use of layer swapping to harvest XP from high-experience-yielding enemies. While they did not do this purely on their own, this record-setting feat of World of Warcraft leveling shows just how committed some players are to breaking the game.
Legion Remix is a limited-time World of Warcraft event in which gamers can speed through the fan-favorite expansion to earn cosmetics, level characters, and score rare achievements. With the ability to get up to a 400% experience bonus on subsequent toons, it is a phenomenal place to level, with even casual fans able to reach 80 in a single play session.

Despite being an MMORPG with over 20 years of content, someone has actually completely finished World of Warcraft: The War Within.
World of Warcraft Player Reaches Level 80 in Under 7 Minutes
However, at least one fan did so in a matter of minutes, rather than hours. A WoW player by the name of Zilverbro recently shared a video of their Lightforged Draenei Paladin in World of Warcraft getting from level 10 (the starting level in Legion Remix) to 80 in 6 minutes and 27 seconds. They captured proof of the entire process and shared it on YouTube in a video that lasted only a handful of seconds longer than it took them to reach the max level.
Zilverbro accomplished this feat of leveling in WoW: Legion Remix through a relatively straightforward method. With the help of several other players, Zilverbro was summoned to Shield’s Rest in Stormheim while on Heroic World Tier to get additional experience. Their powerful level 80 friends then killed the nearby Tormented Skysunder elite dragons with them in the party, all of whom provide large amounts of experience. By hopping between parties, and thus phased instances of the island to avoid respawn timers, they were able to fly around, absorbing massive amounts of XP and speeding through 70 levels in a matter of minutes.
This impressive accomplishment set a new record for the fastest level 80, even beating out the previous record-holder, Harldan, who hit max level in 7 minutes and 15 seconds just a few weeks earlier. They did this with the help of over a dozen other players, who summoned them to various dungeons and raids in order to siphon high amounts of experience from the bosses. Unfortunately, Harldan accidentally made a regular Draenei instead of a Lightforged Draenei in World of Warcraft, meaning they did not get the extra 20% XP from demon kills from the Demonbane racial trait. Had they done so, they might have even beaten Zilverbro’s record.
While most gamers were impressed by both Zilverbro and Harldan, there are plenty of people who question whether such speed runs actually count, as the individual didn’t actually reach max level through their own efforts alone. Regardless, with the amount of coordination it takes to pull this off, it is safe to say that doing so isn’t quite as easy as it seems.
World of Warcraft: Legion Remix Ends in One Week
Sadly, World of Warcraft: Legion Remix is almost over, as the limited-time event is ending on January 20. Fans have just about a week from press time to level up a few more characters, buy any cosmetics they haven’t obtained yet, and earn some last-minute achievements. As they go, players should consider prioritizing things that aren’t available outside of Legion Remix, like getting the Violet Spellwing or other brand-new cosmetics, or those that are significantly harder to get, like certain hidden Artifact appearances, the First Satyr’s Spaulders, or the Chronos and Nightmare Weapon Enchantment Illusions in World of Warcraft.
Luckily, WoW: Legion Remix isn’t leaving fans empty-handed. The World of Warcraft: Midnight Pre-Expansion Update arrives when Legion Remix ends, bringing the lion’s share of the expansion’s systems to the game, including class changes, the Devourer Demon Hunter, and a native damage meter. With Midnight itself arriving on March 2, the next few months are going to be exciting in the world of Azeroth.
